    Side-Mount Plate

okay so i know that side mount licence plates are illegal (or at least im pretty sure, when theyre vertical) but how many of you ride with them anyways. i see a lot of them in peoples pics. for those who do have it, has it even gotten you into trouble at all or do cops not care?

asking b/c my plate was stolen (or at least i believe so, either that or the wind blew it off b/c of my high speeds lol) off of my bike recently. all i have now is a sidemount piece so im wondering if i should use it as a temp, or maybe even for good.

i know ya didn't ask for an opinion, but i'll give it to ya anyways I think side mounted license plates look like dog poo. Plates that are mounted right just look better to me.

Swing by your local hardware store & pick somethin up to get it mounted in a better location.

    Re: Side-Mount Plate

yea i had it under the seat like normal and i liked it there, but it was only held with some plastic which was snapped off, seemingly in theft. I couldnt find the same/similar mount with the same screw+bolt line up, and i dont want to have to drill even more holes.

Sheetrock screws through the tail section.

Ya have me wondering--> Was your plate even worth stealing? Did it say "VJYNA" or something equally as cool?

nope, nothing cool at all. i know plates are stolen more because of their inspection stickers and stuff rather than just what they say. this most likely wasnt some nerdy plate collector

    Re: Side-Mount Plate

I took the side mount off my 929. It seemed to draw a little more attention from the police than I wanted... It's just another reason to have them mess with you. I got pulled over a few times because of it.

    Re: Side-Mount Plate

I still no understand why people want to do shit like the side mount plate the integrated tail signals and flush mount signals. I like my shit to be 100% when I'm out hoolaganing. Why give em any "extra" reason to pull you over?

But I'm with Oreo suprisingly. Go out and get some hardware store L brackets and mount that shit proper.

yea you guys havent seen my bike yet, but it appears to attract attention. the last time I got pulled over, I showed him my undertail & how it has no mounting holes in it for the plate. As long as I get stickers with the plate where it is, I wont move it.

KB, I bought my bike with the side mounted plate. plan on keeping the bike as is the way I bought it. otherwise, I probably wouldnt have moved it.
