how to move a locked bike?

My bike was moved 90 degrees yesterday. How?!? There is a steering lock and a disc lock. It doesn't look like it was dropped. The cover looks like it was removed and then put back on. Any thoughts? All I can come up with is pivoting it on the kickstand, but I don't know why someone would do that.

Maybe the bike stood still for 8 hours while the Earth rotated beneath it.

Was it in a parking spot? If it was moved parallel and closer to the curb, may have given them room to "share" a spot with you.

Re: how to move a locked bike?

My brother owns a Bandit, and I am pretty sure that I could lift the rear tire off of the ground enough to rotate his bike 90 degrees, pivoting on the front tire, without too much trouble. One might have to slide the rear tire a bit on the ground, but it shouldn't be too hard.
Pivoting on the kick stand is plausable as well.
Four guys and two 2x4's could have moved it to another neighborhood in seconds...

no tire scuff marks... very strange... and the bag to the dowco cover is missing. did they just move the bike and steal the cover bag (i usually leave it on zipped out over the guages, under the cover)....

it wasn't pivoted front tire... it was pivoted on the back tire.... so strange, since picking it up with chocked handle bars would be very difficult

Was the disc lock pressed against anything as part of this process? Time for a Xena.

You don't have to be a very large person to pick up the rear of a motorcycle and swing it around.

Re: how to move a locked bike?

Actually, the locked front end makes it a bit easier to lift and pivot on the rear tire. I lift my dirt bikes onto the stand this way all the time. You just turn the bars full lock and grab the bottom of the fork leg closest to you, and lift. Still, it had to be one strong individual - no kid did this.

Maybe someone was trying to steal it and were startled off by someone coming.
    They may be back.
They also may want to see how long it takes you to put it back. Are you out of town, etc.

Come visit me and see the Xena solution.

    Mystery solved:
A teacher at my school moved the bike to make room to park. I asked him how he did it, he said he lifted it by the front tire. It weighs 450 lbs! But he takes hypothyroid medication, so I guess that explains it
