Gorgeous bike and would love to borrow one, but not own one. When they are running well, they are amazing bikes. But finicky suspension setups and expensive maintenance make it fall off my list of must-haves. Ridden a friend's Brutale 910S and was SICK, but broke down 4 times in a single year, spending weeks at a time at the dealership to get sorted.

I could see that parked on the street, and have absolutely no clue what it was. Sure it's got plenty of sex appeal, but to me, it just looks like another motorcycle. One that's too fast for anything I'd do, at that.

I kind of agree with him. Looks like it'd sound like the slash cuts and they sound hideous IMO (yes I know this is a triple and it won't sound the same as an inline 4). I'd throw some ohlins forks on to break up the black in the front and give it some bling.

Has there ever been an unsexy MV? The biggest issue has already been mentioned: it's going to sit at the dealership about 60% of the time. When will a company pair a Japanese engineering team with an Italian designer? When that day comes, I will happily part with 15k. Until then, my 675 keeps me quite happy.

That exhaust is the sex for sure.

And Triumphs are supposed to be reliable?! LOL I can't speak to older Ducatis, but everything I have owned from 2005+ has been bullet proof. I know people that have had MV's say the same. The whole "Italian bikes are finicky" thing has passed long ago, I think.

My Triumph has 27k rock solid miles on it. My friends Brutale barely had 5k and spent, as others have said, 50%+ of the time in the shop. Otherwise, I'm sure he'd have more miles on it.

I have not personally owned an MV, I openly admit to that. But the friend who owned them was a guy I'd ride with literally every weekend and he owned two. Rarely saw them on the road and he would always say it was because they weren't running right, were at the shop for weeks at a time, etc. And this guy is no idiot when it comes to bikes and maintenance. Does all of his own maintenance on his other bikes and cars, but says he won't turn a wrench on his MVs because of how finicky they have been.

So, no I don't own and haven't owned an MV. But I did spend 4 years riding with someone who did nothing but bitch about how unreliable both of his were, but would then turn and smile, saying how amazing they were when they were running, which is why he kept them and kept paying for them to be fixed. I'm just saying I'd love to ride one, but I wouldn't like to own one for these reasons. If yours has had better luck, I'm happy for you. But this isn't the only guy who has had major mechanically issues with multiple MVs.

Re: MV Agusta F3 800 triple

Wait!! Are we discussing aesthetics, performance, reliability or both.

Irregardless ( yes I said it..."irregardless")....I was saying irregardless, I'm not saying this or the other thing but my D675 is running 15k miles and she is going strong.

Speaking of the MV: anyone hear the sound of the MV F3 racing at the isle of Mann TT. Surreal!!
