Not sure where it is, but would you please quit crossing over the double yellow?

Edit: Hadn't watched to the end; now I know where it is. You missed the better roads in the area. Unless you just didn't record those.

Sure Mark, no problem!!! BTW- camera was mounted left side of bike so perspective is slightly off, and if you notice, I only cross the DY on straights when I have a nice long line of sight, and only to avoid rough spots.
    No guess on the road???

actually you crossed it a lot of times at the exit of a curve and at times onto rough pavement in the middle. and you're not even going fast at all so its not like it just happened.

EP road. There are a lot more driveways on it than T Road and I find that makes it a lot less appealing for a good rip.

They just repaved it four or five years ago. Amazing how quickly it's deteriorated.

Every time that I saw he had a clear line of sight and could see if there was any oncoming traffic. And he was using it to set up on the outside for the next corner. You guys need to chill out.

    Re: Mystery Road??

I don't have any criticism for the lines he took. I do however choose to ride differently. I don't race, so on the street I choose to treat the double yellow lines as though they are a wall. (Except in certain areas of Vermont, of course.) If I am ever riding the streets so fast that I need to use more than the lane I'm traveling in, I just slow down. I believe that if I were to start using the other side of the road even when there's no oncoming traffic, I might inadvertently some day set myself up for an injurious or deadly "oops!".

I ride my way, you ride yours, and hopefully we only meet up when going the same way or to the same place.

this is why Smutty. I've seen a lot of cars crossing the line lately. It seems to happen almost entirely when they are on the outside of the curve. I just don't get it, I can keep my big ass truck inside the lines why can't people keep their cars inside. and why do they have to do it when there's a big truck coming towards them. bad habits can lead to trouble.

I really don't see how that is possible if you have a clear line of sight of the straight road coming out of a corner. You guys are just overly cautious.

The guy posted about a road he was on, not to have you guys smear his thread about how he should be safer (even though he is safe). What's next? Asking for a view of him while riding to make sure he is wearing the right gear?

yeah I get that he could see through all the turns and all that but his pace really didn't dictate going over the line. I think you should always try to stay on your own side but I can see going over it if you're going at a decent clip.

So you are saying he should go faster then right?

Seriously. Tell me the risk of doing what he was doing if he can see that NOTHING else is in the road?

And don't try to play the "habit" argument. When I am on a motorcycle I am constantly thinking about my decisions and what the possible outcomes and repercussions are for those choices. As do other good motorcyclists. I don't have any habits. Only choices that I might make more commonly because I feel comfortable with the level of risk that they present in the current environment.

I'm not saying he should go faster but he could have gone faster (if he has the skills) and stayed on his own side. I'm not saying he has to stick to the speed limit or anything, just ride more responsibly for his own sake.

you might not have habits now but if you continue to do the wrong thing they turn into habits. I drive 500+ miles a week, I see everyone's bad habits.

So nobody should try to draw attention to potentially bad habits exhibited by a member here in an effort to try to make them a better rider, simply because you are such a good rider that you don't have anything left to learn?

Smutty's argument is that this rider may not be demonstrating habits, but individual risk-assessed decisions. I have no idea how you got what you did out of his post.

Ahhhhhhh good ol EP. Here is a video of another 'mystery road' in the area - . I remember when i was a teenager, driving around the back roads.. half the time i was in the other lane ( i was a stupid kid), and i just think about how many other stupid kids are out there now, in the other lane, when im out on my bike.
