Good question...I asked a similar question a few months ago. Got a long and friendly PM from one of the admins. Apparently it was in response to the direction another forum had taken...

But the PM I got was in the context of a specific thread regarding stunting and the like. Not a 'general' reply about the original 'Mission Statement' of this forum....

    Re: NESR history question

Well....this other forum either became dominated by Squids and this forum was created to provide an opportunity for more adult street riders to get together and share their experience

    OR

...the other forum became dominated by 'saftey nazis' and this forum was created to provide an environment where adult riders could get together and share their experience.

At the end though, I believe that the founders of this forum wanted to try and provide a place where adult riders could encourage others to ride 'responsibily' without being nazis...to lead by example...

    WTF ....my opinion.......

... So does that mean people here are against wheelies and the like? but condone fast riding on the track, just not on the street?

Just like streetracing forums... do it at the track, and on ramps lol.
I've never seen someone get a speeding ticket on an on-ramp?

    Re: NESR history question

I used to fucking hate posting on SRNE.com. I was 21-22 at the time and the attitude over there was horrible.

If you weren't uber-geared up then you were trash. Reminds me of the Bay Area SF assholes on BARF.

Everyone I have met and ridden with from NESR have
been smart riders and have been respectful of all people's riding levels.
I want no part of wheelie's and or stunting assholes.
That's why I like NESR and am glad it's here

I was originally a member over on SRNE before finding this site... and I must say that the traffic on that forum does not even come close to what we get here. Signed up over here and never looked back.

Don't go to BMW just because of the Gixxer stigma. Fight the stigma and prove it wrong.

    (GSXR's are nice bikes)

I think thats a perfect example of what one of the admins explained to me. Rather than beat 'em up, bring 'em up.

Must admit though...I have turned riders away from rides I lead who weren't wearing helmets and at least a jacket, jeans, boots of some sort and gloves.

I tried not to be a prick about it and I always call out the dress code on rides I lead.

    ...but, good on you Buddah...

    Re: NESR history question

Hmmm I joined up June 2001...
Because Josh had a TLS, and at the time, Jay had a Super Chicken.
They are great guys, and we had some good times together. Not sure how I found the site, but it was still in it's infancy. There was definitely less BS here, than with the other known site. I am proud to be a member of NESR

The suspense is killing me. Where is Jay or Notfrank to answer the question?

    Maybe a "mission statement" sticky?
