Here’s what might happen, this victim is suing the RMV.

It was especially interesting to learn that after years of hearing the driver had a few illicit & illegal drugs in his system at the time of the crash, they were barely trace amounts and "below the reporting limit". That also really stood out to me as most had him convicted of being under the influence of those drugs since the onset.

Then we have an operator with a BAC of .135 (.08 is legally intoxicated in NH) crossing the center line and causing a catastrophic tire blowout on the tow vehicle.

As tragic as this all is, I think they got this correct.

At least the MA RMV - notorious for political appointees - has fixed their reporting system.

Made the NYT again, this stood out for me re. "tried in the press."

Jay Duguay, a public defender who represented Mr. Zhukovskyy, declined to comment on the verdict. But Robin Melone, the president of the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, said in a statement that the case had been “tried in the press from day one,” and that prosecutors had “hoped to ride that vitriol to a guilty verdict. Instead, the jury listened to the evidence, thought critically, and did its job.”

This from the gov of NH is in my mind very inappropriate
Governor Chris Sununu Statement on Zhukovskyy Trial
Concord, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement after Volodymyr Zhukovskyy was found not guilty of all charges in the Randolph, NH crash that killed seven motorcyclists from the Jarheads Motorcycle Club on June 21, 2019:

“The Fallen Seven did not receive justice today, and that is an absolute tragedy,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “I share in the shock, outrage, and anger that so many have expressed in the three years since the seven members of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club were taken from us. My heart goes out to their families, friends, and loved ones on this especially dark day.”
a Jury found him not guilty and that should stand as fact. i like the guy and think for the most part he does a good job.. not sure why he has to stir the pot!

Where did you see that number? It wasn't on the story listed on the previous page

A BAC of 0.135 is absolutely shitfaced (the legal limit in Australia is 0.05).. I had no idea the lead rider was intoxicated until I read the story from the previous page.

conflicting stories there too, I have seen as high as .16, double NH's prima facie .08

Chris is kind of a dick to be honest and his gunstock bs isn't helping. He should've just hung out in the wings on this one, if anyone should be mad at anyone it's the drunk guy that killed his friends. Friends that all drank together and rode together so there's that to think about as well.

    Generally, SUNUNU = Dick

The friends and family of the deceased need an external “bad guy” on whom they can blame this because the admission that their behavior was at least a contributing factor may be too much for them.

"I've got a great idea... people already hate cops, and hate taking responsibility for their actions, let's make them hate the justice system, too."

    Sununu, probably
