It's the learner's plate that really makes that one. Imagine the mess when he makes his newbie foot-slip-in-the-parking-lot mistake and dumps that baby over.

Saf-C 3241.01 Rear View Mirror. Motorcycles shall be rejected if the rear view mirror is found to have any of the following conditions:
    (a) It is not equipped with a rear view mirror.
    (b) It is loosely mounted to the extent that rear vision is impaired.
    (c) It is mounted in a position so that it cannot be adjusted from the driver's seat.
    (d) Rear vision is obscured because the glass is cracked, pitted, or clouded.
    (e) It has sharp edges.
    (f) It is less than 2 inches in diameter.
"It" is a singular pronoun so you only need one. The last item says 2" diameter or larger is legal so you are good to go with a single 4" one.

By the way, these mirrors rule.

That's what I run on the KTM. I just ordered new glass for it because I managed to crack one in a crash!

Will a cracked mirror fail? New machine has one cracked and one fine.

    Re: NH Inspection Requirements

    My interpretation, yes.

    (4) The driver’s rear vision is obscured because the glass is cracked, pitted or clouded;
If, for example, I have 1 headlight out (I have 2 low beams and 2 high beams) I will fail, even though by rule only 1 headlight is required.

I only need 1 mirror, but if I have 2 and one of them fails to meet the requirements, it fails.

Of course it will depend on the individual inspector, but it is "failable".

    That matches my interpretation too.

I'll remove the mirror for the sticker, then reinstall and repair later.

    Dumb rule, IMO. But whatever.
