Sad news...and what makes it even sadder is that his death may have been prevented with a helmet.
It was NOT *MY* point that he didn't have a helmet. I was just pointing out that the local news hacks found it more important to single out the lack of helmet. But I DO agree that if anyone should be familiar with the safety of helmet use, it'd be a state law enforcement official...

Same thing with our local papers here every time there is a bike wreck - they don't say anything at all if the rider was wearing a helmet. It's right at the top of the article if they weren't though. The papers are sensationalizing this for some reason, and the UBM is doing their best to tell everyone that helmets actually make it less safe to ride, etc. Both sides suck. It should be nothing more than the riders' choice. If you don't want to wear a helmet, don't fucking wear one.
