Ninja 250 at Laguna Seca dicing with the big bikes

For the small bike aficionados. Looks super fun. Definitely shows the value of cornerspeed. Only reinforces my desire to pick up one of the new Ninja 300s.

I don't know the Laguna track and I fully understand that the fastest lines for small motor and bigger motor bikes can differ in places, but it blows my mind how poor some of the lines the big bikes are taking.

I can only assume that the rider on the Ninja 250 is an experienced rider at Laguna while the guys on the big bikes are relatively new to the track, possibly even riding on the track. As JettaJayGLS says the lines the other bikes are taking are not consistent with what the AMA guys and or the MotoGP guys run and it does help to allow the smaller displacement bike catch up in the corners.

Pretty cool to see that a small displacement bike will go pretty damn well when ridden correctly though.

Just makes me want to get rid of my 750 and go get a 250. Im still not sold on the 300 yet. I know its a better bike but it feels like a cheater bike to me especially since there are now 3 other 250 class bikes compared to its sole 300.

You've got a solid rider on the race-prepped Ninja 250 out in the B-Group with a bunch of streetbike guys who are clearly less experienced. Only reason 250 guy is in B is because he's on Ninja 250. Fun to see different styles but the guys he's passing aren't in the same league.

fwiw I've ridden Laguna and 250 guy is riding the track pretty spot on, not so much for other fellas. That track is way sketchier to ride than it looks on TV! Lots of tricky shit. Easy to get lost.
