this is the problem with people, they whine and complain about taxes, lack of jobs, empty restaurants and hotels, lack of entertainment and crime levels that go along with this. someone brings relief to all of these and then they whine about noise and traffic. njmp is way under the levels allowed by law so now they work to change the rules. this really sucks

Shrug... these groups are all over the place. Merrimack, NH had a gentleman move onto Lawrence rd. Happens to be the road the town dump and recycling center is on. He then complained about the traffic and wanted them to move the dump. Yep, like that's going to happen.
I'm not sure how long NJMP has been around. These folks in Jersey either didn't do the research when they purchased their houses or didn't get involved in the community when the permits were filed. Their loss. NHMS deals with the same thing, hence why Eric and them are always asking us to not start our bikes too early, etc...

Manchester Airport went through this not that long ago when they were expanding massively. Some of the landowners complained that the larger planes were now landing there more frequently and at all hours when the airport traffic used to be ~90% prop and cessna based. I believe they ended up buying new windows for everyone in an X mile radius.

Shrug.... doesn't make much sense to me.

If I retired from a factory Job in Newark and bought myself a little spread in the Jersy Pine Barrens hoping to spend some quite time bird watching and working a little garden. Then, some bunch of political hacks take a few pay offs and approve a noise generating, pollution spewing, traffic causing race track right smack in the middle of a quiet little airport I wouldnt be too freeking happy.

...just sayin...our little hobby/sport has it's share of detractors and, for the most part, we aren't the best ambassodors for the sport...self included.

Hopefully the track will be lucrative enough to be able to put up some sound barriers in key places. It'd suck if the community got enough anti-track support to be able to keep motorcycle racing orgs like CCS and the AMA from going there on a regular basis.

that lady is a fucking idiot. those sound clips she had were taken trackside. walk out a few hundred feet and it doesn't sound like that. they already had an airport right there and planes are a lot louder (albeit more infrequent) yet they still lived there. So now some race cars/bikes come in and you're hearing noise when you should be at fucking work anyway, kiss my ass.

Its like the time I went to Calabogie. I knew beforehand that there's a sound regulation. I think you can't be over 102dB, and they check every morning. When first driving in all I could think was "who the fuck is gonna hear anything out here, the deer?" the road on my gps ended well over a half mile before I even got to the track. and the nearest house is probably a further half mile away at the beginning of the road.
