north shore riding

Hey, I'm new to the north shore area (Malden). Is there anywhere half way decent to ride around here without heavy traffic, a bunch of stop signs/traffic lights etc that isn't like an hour away? came from western ma

Yeah... Jump on rte 1 or 93, ride North for 15 minutes, then jump off & enjoy!

My "playground" surrounds most of the Topsfield, Boxford, Georgetown area. There's a TON of good roads around there.

Tough to put together a couple hours of solid good riding, but you can find good 30 minute loops.

Fellsway. Go down Rt 60 towards 93 (west from Malden) turn right onto Fellsway. Its not the longest road but up past the Stoneham Zoo and back around is like a 10 mile twisty track. I used to ride that loop everyday for practice - early morning on the weekends is best - and be careful because occasionally state troopers do post up there - but not too often. Ride the loop once to check and then let er rip, definitely put a smile on your face.

+1 on the Boxford area. It's not western MA or NH and you won't set any speed records but there are some interesting roads to explore with no lights and light traffic.

damn that's sweet, I was expecting to hear nah, nothing around here, go to NH haha. I miss doing after work rides. 20 mins away for decent roads isn't too bad.

I haven't done any rides recently because the weather has been gross. You guys know I'm ATGATT, and the current humidity and heat don't make for a pleasant ride.

I was upp there today! LOL Went to Eastern Cycle, then to Cycles 128. Took 128N to 133 back home. I knew you'd want to do a ride since I was there today! LOL!

I must see some of you people all the time, haha. I'm always on 133 and 127, and just got home from doing a loop. That gets pretty boring after doing that a million times though so sometimes I'm taking random roads in Topsfield and that area.

The ride around 127 and 127a is decent. And they just paved most of the backshore in Gloucester.
