I've been looking online to find replacement plastics for the new bike since I knew I was going to buy it. The front fairing bought thru the local dealership from Kawasaki would cost over $600.00. Ron Ayers sell the aftermarket piece for over $500.00 for front fairing and over $200.00 for the tail section. Plus, I'd have to order stickers from Kawasaki. So all this time since I started to look to bring back my bike to "almost new condition", I knew I could not afford buying all the parts at once and probably not right now either as that kind of money doesn't come around too often these days.
I had the perfect solution, right under my nose. I don't know how I didn't think about it before. My neighbor, right across the street from me, the house RIGHT IN FRONT of mine, does body work and paint jobs on cars and motorcycles for a LIVING. That's what he does all freakin day! He even did a few sport cars on the side in his driveway, under a tent he bought. So as I realize this, I go across the street and ask him if he would mind to come and check the bike....oye...a miracle happend.
He looked at the damages, and he told me he will do a full repair AND custom paint job on the tail plastics for $150.00!!!! Unfreakinbelievable. The only thing is that I'm gonna have to wait a few more weeks to ride as he's gonna do the job on some evenings after work or on the weekends, and I don't want to ride the bike with no front fairing. He's gonna remove the stock stickers on the tail since one side is damaged anyway, and re-do custom colors of my choice with flames or any simple design I will come up with. I am so excited and so happy!!!
