I hate stupid people that give us a bad name..

So I am at work. I have a radio for my job and listen to local PDs. I hear a buddy of mine dispatched to just outside of campus to meet with a motorist following 5 or 6 bikes with a complaint. So he gets to the motorist and advises HQ that she is no longer following the bikes but does have a good description and which road they went down. He also says that one of the bikes got next to her, moved in and punched off her side mirror. There was no reason to believe that she had done anything wrong but the bikes took off. There's one more person that will now hate motorcycles.

I think logically we know that they didn't just see this lady and punch her mirror off for no reason. Whether actual or not they percieved her driving or something she did as dangerous or offensive to them.

Not only did she probably do something incredibly stupid, she doesn't even know she did something incredibly stupid.

If/when it goes to court, the biker has a right to face and question his accuser (police) and their witness (stupid blind lady).

I bet there will be a different story then.

I wouldn't think they punched her mirror for no reason either....altho she might not have known she did something wrong as stated...or maybe she knew she did something but made herself look like an innocent poor lady....

Obviously intended to insult plus sized Americans

She's lucky they didn't kick in her door the normal response to an attempted murder.

What I like to do is pull alongside and point to the front wheel and make panicy wobble motions till they pull over to look what is wrong. I smile and they think bikers are helpfull win win

Like the guy I passed (legally, at like 35mph) yesterday in traffic in his Acura. (Passed him to get to a space so I could get in the right lane to make a turn in a block or two)

Next light he runs the red light, even though I did not run the red light in front of him, he just stomped the gas and buzzed me about 50mph when I was stopped!

Gotta show those pesky bikers that nothing passes the mighty Acura CL!

yeah, WTF is up with this behavior? when I'm riding, it's "keep that rider behind me" attitude. as soon as I pass, they stomp on the gas. in fact, an MBTA bus (!) did this to me as I was riding this winter...

I smashed off a side mirror on a cab one time. Guy about killed me on the real twisty part of storrow dr heading out of the city. I don't recommend it though. It took several hard swings down to get it off and my hand hurt for the ride home.

How would you react if the real asshole was in that car trying to run you off the road just because he hates motorcycles? I'm not sure I could keep my cold if someone was to try and kill me on my bike...(I would try tho) then again I can see where a motorcyclist going after a cager might sound "stupid", in the sense that the cager clearly has an advantage on you. I have a very short fuse for stupid drivers. On my bike, I'd try to think twice before going after a car...it's not worth me risking getting hurt, but what I'm saying is "in the heat of the moment" when someone has just almost killed you, your brain might not think clearly.

First of all, I like how everyone is assuming this chick intentionally tried to hurt one of the bikers. But even if this is the case and you truly believe that this woman is trying to kill you, where is the sense in trying to get close enough to the vehicle to punch the mirror or kick the door?

If they were trying to hit you or run you off the road why would you try to get closer to them?

I understand what you're saying. What I was just trying to say is sometimes when someone do something stupid (intentionally or not) and could have get you killed, it's hard to contain your emotions and not get mad...when you get upset like that, then it's you who might do something foolish. Getting close to the vehicle to kick the door/mirror/whatever is probably not a good idea for sure...
