    Cousin to the NSR50, same motor and brakes, forks are slightly longer, larger diameter wheels, very different bodywork.

    yup...rear left tail fairing is in the truck...bike is otherwise complete with only 472 miles

    @ Kurlon - so longer forks and bigger wheels = more upright and street friendly vs. NSR?

    should be two tons of fun @ the kart track

    I can't figure out how to properly ride a mini fast...I might be too tall or just suck, and once I start having fun I don't care either way

    A guy in the mini scene out here actually kills with a modified ns50

    time to get this thing going...

    history:
    -bike owned by PO's father - passed away - been sitting "registration paid" - not true. Bike is out of the system - need to have the VIN CHP inspected and apply for new plates
    -looks all original minus painted rear seat cowl and aftermarket rear turn signals
    -front turn signals stalks snapped off, but still wired - may be able to re-attach those stalks and run the oem signals
    -bike only started when seller sprayed starter fluid into carb and kickstarted - but it ran
    -bike is oil injected - need to clean out all the old oil that's been sitting in the injection system
    -LOW mileage - 480!!

    my guess (like the last 3 bikes I've gotten started) is that gas isn't coming out of the gas tank - tons of rust in the tank and the petcock. That's why it started w' starter fluid - it used that + oil from oil injection to start

    I'll start by cleaning the carb, gas tank, likely a new fuel petcock, re-attach the front signals, tranny oil change, oil injection system oil change, get some fresh tires (these are 25 year old NOS ) and run it at a day when nobody's at a kart track...then once it's mechanically sound, get the street registration, ride it a few months, do some canyon carving, $38 track days, then sell it.

    Kurlon - bike fires after a zillion kicks for a 2nd, then dies immediately

    New plug...and it's the same...gas flow good (afaik) out of gas tank, tank full, oil injection system has oil ik the reservoir, draim plug om carb pees gas when opened (indicating float working)...

    Still won't consistently fire or stay running...pull carb off next?

    And can I run my castor 927 or there a special oil for the injection system?

    compression wasn't measured, but with the kicks it "felt" fairly adequate for a 50cc smoker...it's relatively easy to kick over. plug came out a *little* wet...not fouled...the old plug also didn't come out black. Did not get to see the piston by pulling off the exhaust

    The outside of the carb looked fine...the inside, however

    sludge...literally like a teaspoonful of wet sand...jets were completely plugged and wouldn't clean by soaking or compressed air. I had to poke at the dirt inside with a wire from a bag of bread until it broke free, then clean everything up.

    but it runs!!!

    very underpowered...but understanding its purpose, it's a fun little bike!!

    I'm over it

    I'm listing it locally, but $1,400 + s&h (~$4-500?) takes it in new england

    VT trick to plate it...otherwise I can get a CA street title and mail it with the bike for an extra $300 or so and 2-3 weeks

    I love these small bikes. I sort of capture the feeling riding the Grom. Not the same as a screaming 50 though. I lust after the Aprilia RS50. I got to demo ride one when the Ducati dealer in Worcester was owned by the chain smoking, crotchety, old fart. Ed let me take it for an hour ride and I just kept laughing at the amount of fun I had on it. It was full throttle, tucked in, MotoGP race mode everywhere I went. The fit and finish of the bike was really outstanding for its size.

    went street mobbin for a couple hours last night

    bang through 3rd, 4th, 5th...and you're going 45mph

    new plug installed...still bogs a bit under WOT, going to check the fuel petcock next as I'm guessing it's clogged AF
