    OCC bike at work

My company got one of the OCC bikes as a promotional tool at our new store. We recently moved it to our offices to make more selling space available.

It's the NHL themed bike as we do all the licensed printed apparel.

I'm not a fan of OCC but the bike is pretty cool. Huge too! About 10' long.

Oh, you are such a meanie!

This is the SolidWorks Corp. bike. They probably bartered software and services but I believe the price tag is in the neighborhood of six figures.

Say what you want about the "bike" [it's really mobile sculpture] but their management believes it was well worth the money in promotional value. The workmanship is flawless.

In their heyday theTeutuls charged a $25,000 to $40,000 delivery/appearance fee. Now they are so Lambo door......

Couldn't miss the opportunity. We had the thing in our parking lot for an afternoon and it attracted a crowd.

Think of them as movable sculpture. When you get up close and look at it, there are a lot of design elements that are carried throughout the bike. It is theoretically ridable so I guess it is a motorcycle in that sense, but it's really motorcycle-themed sculpture. I'm not at all into these things (I ride a V-Strom, so duh) but I am impressed with some of the artistic elements of the SolidWorks bike nonetheless.

Different strokes I guess. When I see one of those chopper "sculptures" my eyes glaze over. I'm more into detailed engineering, things that none of these chopper shops can accomolish regardless of their so-called testing. Qualities like the different diameter exhaust headers on the Ducati 999, etc. Attention to detail, not accumulation of details.

Garands though...that shows you certainly have some advanced taste.

If it's theoretically rideable then it ceases to be a bike and is a sculpture.

As a sculpture it's still fucking hideous.
Now here's a real chopper built on a budget with a 79 yamaha xs1100 motor in it. Put together in a garden shed and done right.

The 2007+ DL650 has oval exhaust tubes.

Even a plebeian SV650 puts out 110hp per liter. The liter bikes put out 180+hp per liter. Modern bikes are astonishing.

6 figures for a bike and there are still brake lines and electrical wires hanging all over the place...

I agree. I tend to like bikes made by builders like Russel Mitchell and Exile cycles. He prides himself on making his bikes look perfect and clean. This means routing cables and electrical where it can't be seen.

wait till it gets washed once then starts to rust because they had to redrill all the bolt holes because they don't bother to account for paint/powder thickness.

the last time I saw an OCC bike I wouldn't have ridden it down the street, the welds on some od the bracketry on the frame and the parts they glue on looked like my first welds as a 14 year old....

Now that I can get into. That looks very cool. A little Buell lightning-ish.
