    OEM Graphic removal

I have a fairing for an FZR from 1988 and I want to remove the graphics on it. How can I do this with out damaging the paint underneath?

    Thanks

Heat gun.....go easy and work it off. Don't hit it directly and then use some GooGone....dont use Goof Off shit will eat the plastic.

I've used a hair dryer and goo gone. Worked for me! I'm sure a heat gun would be faster but I didn't have one on hand.

+1 for a hair dryer... WD40 is another option to help remove adhesive residue.

heads up, your paint might not be as faded under the graphics. something to consider.

Though I used heat guns to remove stickers multiple times I'd be careful with the heat gun if you haven't used one before. I'd start the the hair drier trick if I were you.

You noticed how Piggie told you not to use Goo Off? Don't use it. My friend tried to clean his windscreen with Goo Off and that stuff melted his screen.

I've always used a heat gun (on low), then WD40 to get the residue off. RUB GENTLY and I don't spray the plastic...

Agreed, worked great on my Gsxr plastics. It only takes a couple seconds of too much heat to fuck your plastics up.

    Re: OEM Graphic removal

My first bike was an FZR (same gen, 1989 or 1990?) and I'm pretty sure some or all of the graphics were cleared on. I was able to remove some of them but I thought they left a bit of a ridge where the vinyl was. So just proceed with a bit of caution - try an inconspicuous area.
