First "official" Motard ride of the season

Last minute effort to get a small Tard ride going. Sent Tom a text last night around 9pm saying be at my house by 9am...at the same time Todd and I were installing my KTM wheels on his 525.
I'll keep it short and simple, we had a awesome 64 mile ride and killed about 3 hours. It was a mix of paved roads, dirt roads and a few rocky trails in Pachaug State Forest. Next time we are spending a bit more time in Pachaug just to give you'z a heads up
I'm thinking about another in a couple weeks.
Not much for pictures, just took one at Stepping Stone Falls of the bikes.

How did the tires hold up? My OEMs seemed to have a little problem with some gravel which surprised me.

I found out just how mad pilot powers are in leaves/dirt this weekend... was a fun ride! but the ass end looked like something out of a sir-mix-alot video.

perhaps I can join you next time, I've been there may a time on my Mtn bike, but I think my new ride might fit in better with you guys

that's my concern as well, but I figured it was just me since it seems many of you motard guys head off-road/dirt with your road tires no problem. Thinking about picking up a set of Avon Distanzas.

I hear ya, finally broke down and picked one up after thinking about it all winter, no regrets after this weekend(+55mpg). Although I do fear for my license now

I was surprised at how well it went, geared a bit tall for what we did but other than that, I was happy.

Nope, I still have mine but it was at the dealer getting new wheel bearings and a valve adjustment. Todd bought a 525 a year or so after I got mine

The tires do get a few slices in them from rocks but nothing major. Standing up or sitting down, it's still going to spin some on the rocks and slice it

Ahh, you bought that from Paige? You got a well cared for bike, I can assure you that. I'll keep you posted on the next ride, maybe the weekend after this weekend?

I'd have bought that bike if I had gotten my tax return back already. :\
