    ok i need some help.

i cant get the 50 to start.

i think the problem is the new, bigger, carb. It has spark. Gas and air is getting into the carb. Its just not starting. I am 99% sure the ignition is fully wired properly.
my leg is tired of kicking starting it.

the only paperwork that came with the new carb is in japanese.

anyone free today that knows carbs real well?

i have new points and condenser for it too, but i didn't put them in cause its sparking nice and bright, so i am guessing the ignition is working properly? is this poor judgement?

does the 50 have an automatic fuel petcock? Sometimes if you get real big carbs the vacuum pressure isn't enough to open the automatic ones... I'm not a huge carb expert, so that's about all I can think of, aside from the carbs not being set up right, but if that's the case, I'm not much help good luck.

I'm not exactly sure how those are put together, but this might help. Check to make sure ignition timing is right, should fire approximately 2mm (.080) before top of compression stroke. Check compression, a finger over plug hole will tell a lot, gage is better. Make sure fuel is getting to carb, pulling the fuel line at the carb is probably the easiest way to check. Also check idle screw setting, usually 1-2 turns out from fully (lightly) seated. Is it a mikuni? Did you take anything apart? If petcock has two lines it is probably vacuum operated. Try using prime setting if it has one.

    ok i need some help.

the carb is a new one from kitaco racing, its actually a keihin 20mm. the stock one is 13mm
i checked.... its getting plenty o'gas.

i tried ether right into the cylinder to bybass the carb, but still no go, that really surprised me, i thought that should have ignited.

i checked the timing as best i could, it looks right.
there is spark when i pull the plug out and check it, but it seems like its not sparking when i reinstall it.

i checked for compression, i dont have a guage but its air in just fine and definitely pressurizing the cylinder.

so it would lead me to beilieve it might be sparking on the wrong stroke or something like that.

i dont know. next thing for me, i am thinking i will pull apart the generator/alternator and install teh new condenser and points and verify the timing so i am 100% sure thats not the problem.

180 degrees off, is kinda what I was thinking, just not sure if its possible. I've been messing with an XL125 flat tracker. Think maybe all these "H" things are sorta the same. Overly conflagritated for something that should be real simple.
