Ok, just lookin for some quick advice here from some of the more experienced online buyers.
I purchased a front rim, complete with rotors & tire from a guy on svrider.com and it arrived seemingly safe & sound... but he didn't have any boxes big enough, so he just cut up a couple of smaller ones & wrapped it up like it was christmas wrapping. He did a decent job of covering everything up, but it was done in a way that the rotors, even though they were covered w/ a couple layers of cardboard, still coulda gotten a whack since they protrude out a little from the rim.
I'm sure they're fine but I won't find out till April when I ride the thing. Should I just say "got it, thanks!" and leave it at that or should I mention it as kind of an "fyi, just in case you ever ship another front rim" like this?
If they did get bent, whatever... I have another set I can throw on there from my other rims, but eventually I'd need to get another set so I can have em ready at a moments notice for the rain.Just a helpful tip for the future if you sell another front, ya may wanna find a proper box for it just in case. The way it was packaged left the rotors vulnerable to getting hit, BUT I'm sure they'll be alright cuz I didn't see any signs of damage to the cardboard or anything. I'll find out for sure in April when I get it onto the track. If there's any issue I have some back-ups, but as I said, I don't expect to have any problems.
I hate intarweb etiquette.
