    Just Went Orange

Picked up a 2001 KTM LC4 640 tonight. It needs tires, should I pay the extra $50 for Avon Distanzia's or should I get Pilot Power 3's? Also one chain link on the front sprocket seems to be making a clicking noise and doesn't want to line up with the front sprocket. Time for a new chain? The bike is pretty tight otherwise, runs like a boss. Hopefully I'll have pics tomorrow afternoon.

New chain, yes. And new sprockets while you're at it since the stuck link probably caused excess wear. As for the tires... that's your call. Do you like avon's better than michelins? If yes, spend the extra 50, if no, save your money for the chain and sprockets.

I'd skip the distanzias and put the savings towards sprockets to go with that new chain.

Yeah I caved and just brought it all this morning. 16/40 sprockets, DID x ring chain, and I ended up going with Pilot Power 3 tires.

An 01? With 17's? You get the 21-18's too?

Nice. "They" say the 640 is vibey. I say: it's a big fucking thumper.

It's a little vibey, but who cares like you said it's a big fuckin' thumper. That's what they do thump and vibe.

Factory manual says the rear tire is a 160/60/17, but it has a 150 on there now. I went with the 160 but its gonna be close to the chain so I'm crossing my fingers.

Edit: The dude said he had the 21/18 setup complete, but they said his dad sold it without him knowing. Whatever, I understand if that happened. I can always pick up a setup over the winter for decently cheap money.
