my Arai Signet e is trash, 7 years old and well over 100,000 miles of wear, parts are now obsolete so I need a new helmet
What helmets are long oval head shape?

Not Arai's or AGV's. Not sure if that helps any.![]()
I think the Arai Profile is their new helmet with that shape?
edit: Yes the Profile is the replacement for the Signet.
My HJC AC-10 fit my long narrow oval head well. Oreo's OGK FF4 did as well, that was a beautiful helmet.
I think Shoei's are long and narrow.
Most Arais are big and round.
yes, understand the Profile is what Arai replaced the signet with and that is the first I was planning on tryingOriginally posted by benVFR

I have heard some Shoeis are long & narrow too, but don't know which specific model
I'm also going to try a Fulmer, my winter helmet is a Fulmer snowmobile helmet and fits almost as nice as my Arai, only difference is with the arai, I have non standard cheek pads 25mm's instead of 20mm's or vice versa
Arai Quantum = round
Astral = less round
the RX7 is somewhere between the quantum & astral, I think

If you mean oval from front of the head to back of the head, check into the Scorpion's. Cheap and comfy...I love mine!

I just bought this helmet at my local dealer for $260, complete with optional chin curtain & breath deflector and a spare dark smoke shield, also had to customize it a bit with non standard size cheek pads same as my Arai Signet
fits good, but that was the one I tried in store, they only had $400 designer colors in stock, I got it in Orange cause it don't come in yellow

I have an Arai Profile and love it. It fits perfect and has the best venting of any helmet I've used yet.
I used to use Shoei due to their oval shape. I am sure they are excellent also.

The Shoei TZ-R is what I would have suggested as a replacement. I also have a long oval head (Signet) and the TZ-R fits nice. Also, the HJC AC-11 is a good fit.
I like my shoei i never cared for the way Arais shields are fixed on
AGV is also good for me

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
I think it's a shame Shoei cancelled the Z-Two.
I've got an Arai Profile right now and I think it fits slightly better then my Z-Two but the Z-Two may have been quieter and it vented very well.
However I do really like the Arai after getting used to it. Their shields are excellent, the mounting system is a little annoying but it definitely doesn't take me any longer to switch shields then with the Shoe system.
The bonus is the Arai shield system is much simpler with fewer parts, if it does break it should be easier to fix and less expensive. The spring mechanism on my Shoei is pretty worn out and the cost to replace the springs, etc.. looked very expensive when I priced it out.
Also the built in chin curtain/spoiler on the Arai is genius.. I love it. Great for cold weather riding, all you need is a scarf & the curtain keeps the air out of the helmet. I had a chin curtain for my Shoei but since it wasn't integrated into the helmet I eventually lost it.
I hated the built in chin thing on my signet, hard plastic just doesn't do it for me, I fitted in the stretchy terry cloth chin curtain from the Bell M2 that I had before my AraiOriginally posted by benVFR

btw the bell was the quietest helmet I ever owned, but also the heaviest
I'm not sure If I'm going to line the chin curtain on the Shoei and the sales guy warned me that the shoei chin curtains come loose after a while, and comparing the material that it's wedged in with compared to the way the one from my bell was constructed, I can see that Bell makes a better chin curtain and it will probably fit,

The Profiles chin curtain isn't hard plastic, which is nice.
Problem is for cold weather riding I think the front of the helmet (Profile) leaks cold air even with everything shut. The Shoei definitely did not do this.
One issue I have with cold weather riding is my eyes water like crazy if I have any of the vents open and the outside temperature is below 40F.
I have yet to have a helmet that won't fog up with all the vents shut and temperatures that low.
It's not the end of the world but it makes me stop a little more often.
Fog City face shields do a nice job of keeping the shiled clear in cold weather.
I never used the chin deflector on my Arai. It didn't seem to do anything. I could be that the shape of the bike's windscreen shot air underneath it??

my snowmobile helmet has double pane visor, and if that is not sufficient, then I can get a heated visor

just to let u guys know also, Scorpion helmets have an option to switch it to a snow helmet complete with double pane (electric and non-electric) sheild. It comes as a kit (called the works kit i think) that includes the sheild, with flip down internal shield that comes in smoke/hi-def yellow/amber, and has a really nice lower chin skirt that has tons coverage. Oh and also comes with a nice breathguard too. I think 150 for the electric one and 100 for non electric.
