    you need to:
A: GET OFF THE BIKE MORE
B: MOVE YOUR HEAD WAY OVER
C: (which in turn will require you to...) CARRY MORE CORNER SPEED
    Right on.

I was feeling more comfortable hanging off towards the end of VIR than I was June 2nd at loudon. I noticed I was jamming my inside leg up against the slider in turn 9 especially to keep my balance on the bike. Not sure what it was exactly, I think part of it is that I was having trouble with the shorter tighter turns at loudon, not as much time to set up my body position correctly and I was upsetting the bike trying to jam myself off the seat so I ended up a bit lazy, I'll have to work on quicker transitions right to left come june 21st.

Maybe get my lazy ass to do a few crunches and work up the upper body in the next two weeks too, I gotta get out on the pedal bike more

Yeah that's me, I'm the slow zx6r. Nice pictures pete, looks like you're doing well out there.

Do you remember what size front you got from Dave? I need to order a set of power again for the next track day, the set I have on there now is the 180/55 120/70 combo, as they didn't have the 120/65 power out yet when I got them. I think the 00-02 has a 120/65 stock tho. Dunno if I should switch back or not

yeah, i'm runnin a 120/65 up front but had thoughts about goin to a 70. if you're comfortable w/ the 70 & like the way it handles then i don't see any reason why you woulnd't stay w/ it but talk to the more experienced guys, i'm not sure if there's any considerations to take into mind when changing the front aspect ratio.

    This is debatable...

Personally, I do not get way off the bike and prefer my head more centered on the bike.

I feel this gives me my best chance to recover from slides, etc.

I tried hanging way off and bringing my head way to the inside... and just never got comfortable. Any time the rear would slide, I felt out of control.

When I'm more centered on the bike, I deal with it just like I would a dirt bike slide.

Not saying either method is "right"... just saying there are several ways to go fast.

i gotcha I used to feel the same way, centered on the bike..feel more comforatable....more like riding on the street..etc..
but when i wanted to go faster i turned to much faster guys and asked for advice on how to go faster by having them follow me around the track and i would usually get the same answers...
"set up sooner", "get off more" and "move your head over" i guess the main theory behind hanging off the bike is the more your off of it the less you have to lean the bike over which in turn means the bike is more upright and more rubber on the ground = on gas sooner....right?
i realize that what works for one person might not be comforatable for another and you are right there isnt 1 method that is "right" i just know that its hard to break street riding "habits" on the track and the track is much different than the street (as im sure YOU know ) and therefor requires a different riding technique

    Example of Top MotoGP riders

Above is another example of the more upright style. Obviously, if they are in MotoGP, they are fast.

Again... not saying either one is right. I had to fish through a lot of "hanging off style" photos as well.

OH i know!! Foggy was an upright rider and how many titles does he have? Bayliss is the same way. and Capirossi i think rides with his head in the middle of the bike.
Then there is Ben Spies and Eric Bostrom and Rossi..none of which are slow
Different strokes for different folks and if you are not comforatable riding a certain way then you will NEVER be fast. i mean,if you dont feel comforatable on the bike then how can you go fast.....right

    Exactly...

    Get comfortable... then get fast.

If I hung off like you do in your photo, I'd have to go in the RED group for sure!
