How are Oxtar boots?

I have a chance to get a pair of these for $70 shipped. Light use.





I'm not crazy about the color, but that looks to be a good price. From what I can tell, they look like old Oxtar Sports. Does that sound about right? Comparable to A* GPS3's? They look almost identical to the old Sidi Vertebra 1's, minus the armor in the back...

If I was into looks I would have bought an R1. Any idea on the protection, or at least how they compare to Sidis/A*s? I've only ever seen those two manu's in person. Is Oxtar at least a decent company?
