Paint I didn't know

I am rattle can (dupicolor) painting my old BMW.

Two facts for some reason (I am almost a seasoned citizen) and never knew.

The last coat of paint its solvent has dissolved the paint clear to the metal, primer and all

I touched it and was looking a metal...start over.

I always thought it only attacked it enough to attach to the previous coat but no the whole depth is Jello.

2nd fact better... The finish improves over days. The smoothness and shiny got better for a whole week. Every morning better who knew ?

I am clear coating with upol 1 and some parts look glazed so happy with that.

It is a lesson not to mess with the paint for a long time like a month

Seriously, too bad I didn't know.

I couldn't wait more than two days to get everything, primed, painted, clear coated, polished, and back together.
