My son in-law lives in CO he does a lot of mountain bike riding has been looking into theses. says there some opposition to theses using the same trails as peddle bikes. And I can see closing speeds being an issue!
I must say theses have an appeal to this Boomer! 1st electric bike I have any interest in owning!

Erroneous. unless we are talking used market. HDs cant compete with imports in the used market simply because they hold their value better. the misnomer is that HDs cost way more than their import counterparts but the reality is they are usually pretty close. for example, a gold wing MSRP is about the same as a Limiteds MSRP. it should also be noted that HDs typically come with more standard features than the import version.
rode one at work this summer. we received 3 in the past week.

you shouldve stopped typing here...
first off they dont make the raider anymore (that i can see) and when they did, it didnt have inverted forks. but sure, we can compare your Raider to a Low Rider S. the HD has CC, inverted forks, dual disk brakes, ABS. its also got a shorter wheelbase, a 6 speed, and tire sizes that are sub 21" and not 200mm wide...so it handles. also, the HD makes about the same power as the Raider, maybe slightly more and weighs roughly 100lbs less...
yes...ABS is definitely the more dangerous option
and the bike will still be worth more wrecked than that Raider
i dont know what youre an expert at, but you should stick to that.

Gold wings are basically civics minus some seats and are very expensive. I would call that an outlier, not an average example.
really? fine. a Venture is $25k, as is a K1600...so is a Limited. theres just not a lot of big baggers out there anymore. kawi has one thats pretty cheap but i dont know if its any good.
a Bolt is $8k and a 883 is $9k. i cant really compare softails to much because it seems that the only import company that makes large displacement cruisers is suzuki and while their MSRP is a a few grand less than the HDs, they also dont seem to have any/many features like ABS or CC. i guess it depends on what those features are worth to you to determine if they are worth the extra coin.

Old stereo types die hard. My Harley is one of the most reliable machines I have owned. Braking, acceleration and ride are all within the premamitures of a bike in the touring class.
It's not a sport bike so yes it takes longer to stop and start a 1000lbs of machine rider and gear.
Ride the bike accordingly and it makes for a fun street bike .actually in a lot of ways its more fun to ride on the street then a sport bike!

Yeah.. why exactly can we not compare the 'Wing and the 'Ultra?!?
I still haven't ridden a sportster. But I have ridden the Bolt and can say with complete confidence that was one of the worst motorcycles I've ever thrown leg over. Only Enfield ups the Bolt in that category. Total shit. Would rather ride a Burgman.

Are you back at HD? Rochester?
OP sorry I got my Yamaha speak wrong. I meant the Warrior.
ABS is certainly a safer bet but if your bike is heavy af not a lot is gonna help. I am sure the Lowrider handles great all the way up to it's 24 degree lean angle.
Honest I hope you like the new HD and don't wanna derail your thread but the facts speak for themselves. HD products are generally underpowered (air cooled), heavy, and don't lean for shit.
negative. ive gone south to Billerica
you should just stop...honestly.
the warrior hasnt been made in nearly a decade, it weighs more, makes less power and *GASP*....is air cooled.
PS...HD big twins have been liquid cooled for several years now...way to stay up to date on your unsubstantiated hate for a brand for no reason.

who am i to deter people from dressing like a pirate?
YAHTZEE!
when i had my road glide, i had just as much fun on my favorite roads doing 10 over with the wife on the back, radio playing and being comfortable as i did doing double (or triple) the limit on my Sumo.
Bonus was not needing a backyotomy after a couple hundred miles.

Sure they have a quart of coolant flowing around the exhaust valves but IMO that was done to keep your nuts from roasting. Their cooling setup on the big bikes is a hybrid air/oil/water, not a true water jacketed block.
The current list of liquid cooled HD's in my mind includes the V Rod which the motor company didn't build and the Street 500 and 750 which are both hopeless POS's.
So in short - You only know buzzwords?

As I'm doing now, if not quoting I'm responding to the last comment... so this is to you Chipper, prior was to klp.
Now, back to the buzzwords comment, tossing around 'but liquid cooled' without why you want that particular feature, or consider it a perk or negative is just hand waving. Traditionally, air cooled meant lower BMEP potential, but lighter total powerplant weight, few parts so lower cost as well so there are gains to be had with the acceptance of lower BMEP. BMEP for those who don't recognize the term is Brake Mean Effective Pressure, it's a means of comparing engine output across differing designs without having to worry about displacement/liquid vs air/RPM where peak is made/etc. High BMEP is a sign of an engine that's operating efficiently and making solid power whatever it's design is. Re the 'just a quart around the exhaust valves' quip, if that's where they needed the cooling to be reliable with the tune they shipped, what's wrong with the design?
Bikes mentioned in this thread:
2020 HD Low Rider S - BMEP 157.4 PSI (V-Twin, 'semi' liquid cooled)
2017 Yamaha Raider - BMEP 164.8 PSI (V-Twin, air cooled)
2020 Honda Goldwing - BMEP 146 PSI (Boxer 6, liquid cooled)
2018 KTM 790 - BMEP 196.9 PSI (Upright twin, liquid cooled)
2020 Indian Scout Thunder - BMEP 157.4 PSI (V-Twin, liquid cooled)
2020 Indian Chief Dark Horse - BMEP 161.7 PSI (V-Twin, liquid cooled)
2007 Buell Ulysses - BMEP 172.6 PSI (V-Twin, air cooled)
2005 Honda CRF70R - BMEP 106 PSI (Air cooled horizontal single)
2020 HD Street Rod 750 - BMEP 157.5 PSI (V-Twin, liquid cooled)
2020 HD Iron 883 - BMEP 150.8 PSI (V-Twin, air cooled)
So, now we can compare more apples to apples and the Dyna's motor doesn't seem to be suffering too badly from the design choices HD made with it based on what they're pulling from it compared to this thread's choice of comparisons in the market.

Most HD owners aren’t going to cite sporting performance as their reason for buying. I’ve only owned sport and MX bikes for the last 30 years but every HD I’ve ridden (except the 883 sportster) was oddly satisfying. I surely won’t be buying this ugly duckling or ever playing dress up like the rugged individuals who all look alike in their vests and chain drive wallets. But would I enjoy a bagger? Fuck yes, because I wouldn’t try to ride it like a GSXR.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the new Lowrider S. That's a compelling scoot.
