    Pass the time with this Sear's Point video!

    Last week I went to Sear's Point to do a trackday. Seemed a better use of my time compared to sitting at my desk. Last night I edited some of the footage into a video and uploaded it to share with the world.

    This track, this track is a fun track!

    I haven't actually editing a video since 1999 (college). I didn't even know Windows had a built in video editor. Granted it's rather basic, but compared to the technology of 1999, or my even older technique of using two VCR's (yes VCR's) this is magic!! Since I have this POV Camera from work here I might have to 'borrow' it some more and post up more riding vids. MX? Santa Cruz hills? Supermoto?.

    It's actually rather high up. It's mounted to the right radiator shroud at the very outer edge. So it's about 4' off the ground. When bike is leaned to the right it goes obviously lower.

    Thanks!

    Yup that's the camera. I got it for $700 direct off the company's website. It's a slick unit.

    848 = real nice!

    Yea bunch of walls. AMA guys threw a similar "Loudon fit" a few years back and they made a bunch of changes. It's now "acceptable safe" and the AMA guys are satisfied. Still some corners where you are like 'uh.. better not crash here'. Notably Turn 10, the fast right sweeper after the Bus Stop where you are flying along and there is a wall, lined with haybails, right off the racetrack. Turn 10 is where Josh Herrin's bike caught fire last year during one of the AMA sessions. Sear's Point is also where Vincent Haskovec was injured. That happened in Turn 5 (another fast right).

    Looks much worse than Loudon. Not only that turn 10 spot, but there's a hard braking zone where you were like a few feet from an unprotected wall. If two bikes tangled there, it's be tragic...
