Puig should have thrown his body under him to break his fall.

    Did Toyota design that part?

Re: Pedrosa crash due to fly-by-wire malfunction

Hmmm....the article mentions a 'throttle cable'? Is the Honda 'true' fly by wire, or does 'fly by wire' include some sort of cable?

A PROBLEM WITH the throttle cable on Dani Pedrosa's Honda RC212V has been attributed as the cause of the Spaniards crash in this morning's first free practice at Motegi.

Repsol Honda MotoGP issued a statement surrounding the crash, part of which reads:

'A small problem with the throttle cable didn't allow Pedrosa to close the throttle when he came to brake, an issue which has already been investigated and resolved.'

Fly by wire still has a cable. there's a computer in between the throttle and the butterfly.

    gotcha...figured something like that.

Wonder why they do it that way? Certainly they could have designed FBW without a cable...

Re: Pedrosa crash due to fly-by-wire malfunction

Dunno, but that's the way my bike is and the throttle doesn't feel good. Gimme an old domino assembly with heavy carb springs any day. FBW sucks and is car technology IMO.

Honda will probably blame the crash on the existence of 2-strokes.
