    Penguin Track Day

How much time and money does it take to get licensed to race street bikes?
    Thanks
    Albert

It really depends. Do you have a bike that is set-up already?
The Basic course will run you 250 plus day expenses. (Fuel, Food, Travel, and tires)
After that it all depends on what bike you have and how much work is needed to get it ready. Can be very little or......... How much do you have???

To quote PK: "Open your wallet and start shoveling"

I raced on a fairly tight budget for a few years. Bike was 1500 bucks, trailer was 400, leathers, gloves, helmet, etc for about a grand. Race school is 250ish, license is another 150 I think. Then you've got all the other small shit. It adds up.

If you've never ridden on a race track before, Track Days is a very smart option to consider.

    Re: Penguin Track Day

Thanks for getting back to me. I am not sure how all of this works really, threads, subject lines etc... But I do appreciate the responses. I have done two track days in Loudon. One Tony's and one penguin. I would like to try and race at some point. Maybe I will try to do a few more track days and then, go for the racing. The two track days were amazing.

    I can dig it.

Racing's a ton of fun, but yeah... open wallet & start shoveling. Track days typically result in more laps for your dollar. I guess it comes down to what you're lookin for - Fun & competition = racing. Fun & educational = track days.
