    Talking Perfect day for riding

9 days and 14" of rain later, it was time to get some riding in and the weather today couldn't have been and more beter, well maybe a little more warmer
Four of us set out early today for the ride knowing we would see washouts and roads closed everywhere we went... and it started about 1 mile from Seans house where there was a huge ditch across the road.
The roads were a mess everywhere and I'm glad we weren't out on sportbikes in this mess, i'm also glad I put the knobbies back on the KTM for this ride Sean lead us on some pretty cool roads that were a good mix of dirt, smooth paved and bumpy paved. I think the plan was to keep it somewhat mellow as Bob was breaking in a brand new KTM640 adventurer.. cool bike Bob

    Bike troubles Sean? haha

Why stop at the finish line?? They're very orange

We did encounter some more washout and rough roads. I'm sure the dirtbike clubs will blame the quad guys for this erosion?

We had a quick lunch at Subway and then talked about where we were going next. Crow Hill Mx was mentioned and Bob wanted to go back. I knew it was closed but we were heading there anyways and it wasn't far from where we were going. We did have a little run in with a ELE. It was some fat guy that musta got picked on when he was a kid because he sure gave us a lecture even though we were 100% legal and legit on the road we were on. He went on to explain had we been on the next road over (he was stuck on it with a flat tire) that we would be arrested and could get upto $50k fine and spend a year in Jail Thanks buddy, have a nice day

We got to Crow Hill and sure enough it was closed. We pulled in and shortly after the owner came by to say hello, it seemed they may have been working on the woods portion of the track??

After Crow Hill, we started to head back south on a simalar route. We stopped at some road and Sean was facinated with some cross dresser that he's seen in the area before, while he's babling on about that I hear Leah say "Mark needs gas"!!! Thank you for reminding me Leah We made it to Barre Center to fill up and man was it close... The bike has a 1.8 gallon gas tank and it took 1.7 gallons of fuel to fill it
After that we made our way back to Sean's house and called it a day, 5 hours of dual sporting is enough I guess
Thanks Sean and Leah for having me over, we didn't even get drunk either (Bob said Leah gets me drunk all the time )
    Good ride, good company

    Perfect day for riding

Yeh the bike trouble is there are tooo many safety switches to start the friggin thing. A kick stand safety, and a clutch safety which seemed to only work when it wanted to. I'll have to bypass that one .
That wash out had to be like 15 feet deep all the rain we got made for some interesting riding.

As for the cross dresser, we have seen him probably 4 different times now in various spots on the dual sport loop, just parked out in the middle of the woods , I alomst have to say he knows our route and is looking for some man lovin'

That ELE guy was a dick but we were perfectly legal and better to be on our way than argue with the guy. Strange though that he stopped us on the same road that we saw the cross dresser on, and he seemd to be in a bad mood.................

We did roughly 100+ miles. Bob did quite a bit more than that as he rode from his house and back.

Hopefully we will have a few more weekends like this before the snow falls.

I have some action pics but will have to get them developed on a disk is week to post them.

    Perfect day for riding

I did some dual-sportin in Providence RI today on the Z-Rex on my quest for "Gaggers" and coffee-milk. Ruts of mud 1' high on paved roads from the flooding this past week. Pretty crazy!

BikeBandit fucked me AGAIN so my KiLeR is still outta commission. It should be ready by next weekend though. I have yet to dual-sport it other than down in Deal's Gap.

You guys mind if I join in on the festivities next time?

    Perfect day for riding

I had worked every day for like 2 weeks, I finally didn't have to work today. (Even though we were still in the middle of a "crisis")

Got out and went up to NH.. I kind of wanted to check out the flooding, etc.. I figured most of it would be clear. Ended up doing about 200 miles. I saw 2 closed roads and a whole lot of water, lots of places where 6" more water would have flooded over the road.

    Perfect day for riding

What a blast that was today, thank you very much Sean for leading us on these cool roads. I couldn't believe we drove along that canyon where they were cliff driving into the river below, that was a little dangerous!!

Good to have friends to get my bike moving along when I couldn't, can't believe how weak I still am from the accident 10 weeks ago.

I opted for some kayaking in and about Fishers Island Sound, and chasing albacore. Ran into a little trouble just trying to get to a couple spots to launch. Alot of roads were closed because they were under water.

Cool bike Bob, looks like you have a little bit of wind protection too!

Ya Mak, I'd agree. Damn burmusters......

Take the quads and the motaaahds and dump 'em in the ocean.

If only I realized how silly it looks to keep your feet up in the water to stay dry

I laughed in my helmet taking the pic, and again out loud when I saw it developed.
I guess putting the plastic bags in the boots didn't work too well cause my feet were still wet at the end of the day.

Yeah, I'm new but I want in, too!

Where were you that was the questionable area (legally) to ride? Are there trails in state parks that riders sneak into?

There are a couple state parks just south of Boston that you can legally ride, Wrentham and Freetown? All you need is at least a Mass Yellow plate or street plate and a spark arrestor. They close the last week of November for the season though

I'll be up for riding next weekend if anyone else is interested. If you guys wanna explore a bit up in North Central MA, I know of a bunch of legal and quasi-legal trails we could hit. They would only be good for around 3 hours worth of riding though.
