Ok... so I've decided to use the F2 as track only... so it's time to do a little bike shopping/research. I'm diggin the new ZX6R in Silver. I ride for fun, I never commute or run errands on it.. strictly an enjoyment machine. However I would like a bike that's good for a longish day trip (NH, etc.) Would a SS bike with a corbin be alright with this? Some people can ride RC51's all day and others say it's a pain in the ass. New, used, doesn't matter to me really... and I'm thinking a 6 is big enough but open to anything really.... so yeah, I'm lostSo here I am...... I put the burden on all of you

new bike huh.. oh what a bummer to have to try and decide. well you have been riding for a while so i think you should get a liter bike because you can just keep adding on and never want something bigger. over time u might just not have fun on a 6 anymore. thats what happened to me. the 6 just didnt suprise me anymore i needed something that i could grow on but not grow out of.

I just bought my second rc51. Awesome bike. I can go all day with the corbin seat. The sound and power delivery is awesome. And I have one for sale that I am willing to deal with. Think about it or ride one if you can.

That is a nice lookin R6 for sale.... however if I went with a 6 it would probably be the '05 6R.... and the 04 R1's are just gorgeous, yours is hot Brent.... wonder if there's any leftover 04'sAlways loved the looks of the RC as well, and that twin growl for sure. Brent how's the wind on the highway? You have the stock screen or a DB? That's also a concern of mine, I don't want my head to be knocked around on the highway from windblast... I'm not a tall guy so this should be an easy fix with a DB I would hope.
i have the double bubble and i can ride on the highway at speed with the mask up and have no problem. it rocks though![]()

You're talking me into spending way more than I wanted to..............![]()
Since you have a track bike, I would look for something a bit more comfy. The supersport bikes are sweet, but why be uncomfortable if you dont have to??
This is true, which is why I am not ruling out the VFR as an option... kind of an in-between... unfortunatly I haven't ridden a VFR so I'm not really sure what I would be giving up.
Edit: I also dig the Aprilia Falco's..... sweet lookin bikes!
I had a 96 VFR 750 for three years....I cant recommend it enough. It actually has a lot in common with your F2....same or similar forks and handlebars, etc. Nice riding position for long hauls, but not too upright for having fun in the twisties. Also, they sound absolutely AWESOME with a pipe on themOriginally posted by joberly

With the RC, its a pain of loveMy wrists are what get to me. I'll be getting some sato adjustable clipons in the winter/spring.
Just make sure you move around and stretch while you can BEFORE YOUR ARE SORE! That will extend a day greatly. I did a bunch of 350+ mile days and a 400+ day this year. No corbin either...
Good luck with the quest!

Without the corbin, that is rough. I have done 400 to 500 mile days and my wrist have been fine. Its all about how you sit. I guess my gut against the tank keeps the weight off my wrists.

BruceYou'd think that with no weight, the wrists wouldn't get it... but they do!

get the falco.
by far the sexiest bike i ever laid my eyes on. and not too bad in the comfy dept either.
but the z1k is more fun to ride and more comfy for the long hauls.

You know you want a Superhawk. Yes you do............cheap, reliable, V-Twin torque and rumble.

VFR unless you do your own valve adjustment isn't that like $700 because of the useless 2 valve 4 valve![]()
I am not going to do anything this year myself but all my research just came up with
ZX-10R
It just beats everyone else everywhere
Yes soon there will be one at every stop light but for the best of reasons![]()

I'm biased, but I'll suggest the 7R.
What most people complain about with this bike is what makes it great for everyday street riding.
It won't get twitchy in a corner and it's got good low end and enough top speed to keep ya happy.
Now... if I were in the market for a new bike... I'd look at the RC51. It's just hot.
or any of the Aprillia...

Maybe I'll find a way to at least sit on all the different options.... since no dealer I know of will offer a test ride. I just like too many bikes, I find 'em all sexy! I'm sure anything I get I'll be happy with... but the process is so hardBrockton cycle has some leftover 04's I think I'll check out tomorrow perhaps.

I've done a couple 450+ mile days this year on my 04 R1 with no problems, comfort doesn't seem to be an issue with that bike IMOPlus it can go 180 miles on a tank of fuel with no problems
