Hey guys & gals,
So I'm thrilled to say that I picked up my new ZX-6R yesterday and rode it home for it's very first 10 miles! It was cold as hell and my hands were blocks of ice (despite gloves) by the time I got home but DAMN did it feel good to get in that first ride of the year. I'm moving up from a 1995 so the combination of weight reduction and fuel injection really made it such a different beast.
My first question to any 2007-2008 ZX-6R riders is this. I'm a pretty tall and light guy (6'1 150lbs), and it seems to me that I'm sitting a little too high on the seat. With my old zx-6 I could get my feet flat on the ground at a stop, but with the 2008 I can't. This may just be 14 years of design improvements at work but If it's something I should adjust in the suspension I'm going to consider it. The guys at the shop didnt ask for my height/weight to set it up exactly for my body style so I assume it's really just a factory setup.
It's right back in the garage now for the next few weeks until the air warms up a bit and the roads clear off. Pics to come of both the new bike and the old as it is for sale.

good deal man!
Just FYI
By getting a Supersport type bike you sorta forgo the ability to get your
feet on the ground fully especially if your 5'6" like me! Messing around with the bike to be able to flat foot it will just alter the suspension compromise performance. You should get used to it being high after a few weeks.
You do want to adjust for Sag for your weight though.

Why would you want both your feet flat on the ground?

I think you need a ZX11. I`m 6 ft and can flat foot any time I like. Just kiddin`. If you don`t get used to it there are lots of options. Good luck with the new bike.

Oh and one more thing. Anyone have any good recommendations for 07-08 zx-6r fender elim kits? The fender on this bike is about as ugly as they come and must go asap. I'll also be needing a nice double bubble windscreen as I can't see the top half of the tach and some other instrumentation with the stock one. Damn me for being over 6 feet

Just get a puig DB and be done with it and don't Kawi's have one of the lowest seat heights? Also, please talk to KillBill and get some weightgainer, 6'1'' isn't that tall but 150lb is ridiculous.
Well now we all know who to blame this snow on...
THANKS, ASSHOLE!
And congratulations![]()

www.kawiforums.com has a decent aftermarket list for the 07 zx6r. Congrats on the new purchase.

Degs I get what your saying,,,
But you set your sag based on being in the middle 1/3 of
your full travel not based on whether your feet touch the ground, right?
So if you set your sag right and your feet are closer, cool, but that's not
the object of it.
My sag is about right and I'm on my tippy toes.
Could I dog bone it and lower the front? I guess, but frankly I'm used to
it being tall now.

6ft 185 and I have no problems flat footing the bike..
Umm only thing I can think of to suggest might be to stop sitting on the rear seat and try that big one in front of it?
But bad jokes aside congrats on the pickup

Thanks. With height we're assuming a lot I suppose. Your legs could be longer than mine, my torso longer than yours, etc... For a tall guy my legs aren't especially long, so that probably has a lot to do with it. Honestly, I can get my feet about 60% on the ground so it's really just my heels that don't touch. This was really just a question of "is this how it should be, or am I doing something wrong". I'm sure I'll get used to being a tad higher up after a few rides. Less than 3 weeks until Spring boys & girls!
