Re: Anyone have a small pickup truck I could put 1500 miles on? :D
I have a 2009 Toyota Yaris hatch (2 door). The hitch setup looks to be around 100ish for the draw tite. Add another $20ish for the wiring. Then I have to install it and wire it up, and borrow a VERY lightweight trailer (the yaris can't tow much). After you factor all that in I could have just driven the truck and been in comfort. The total savings in minuscule.
I could be wrong though...

That night I'll be driving to Hanover PA to stay with a friend, then driving back home to Wenham the following day.
If it were a Friday into Saturday kinda thing, down & back I still may be able to swing the drive...

When you know, please post up. In a strange turn of events, I may try to hitch a ride with you if I can manage to strike a deal on a car in PA.

If that's the case and you're willing to contribute to the gas fund, I'm 100% down.

It looks like November 5th, 5pm(ish) is the current planned day to meet in Lexington, VA.

UPDATE: Looks like we'll be going to Roanoke instead of Lexington.
Re: Anyone have a small pickup truck I could put 1500 miles on? :D
$130 one way flight from Boston to Roanoke on 11/5
$45 gas (50mpg- 750 miles @$3 a gallon)
$50 cheap hotel
I think it's the cheapest option $225 total
if you drive down in a truck
1500 miles at 20 mpg x $3.00 = $225 (75 gallons x $3.00= $225)
plus hotel $50
$275

Your math is absolutely correct. Sadly I can't fly down, I'm trading bikes :)

even cheaper. . . .
$45 down, $45 back, $50 hotel ($100 if you want to do it it 3 days)
$190 total

I have to bring the bike down and all of the stock parts. No way I can ride. Even if I could ride I wouldn't want to cover 650mi on a DR. At least not with the OEM seat it has now...
