    Pilot Road 4 2CT

looks like the new PR4s are out. a little more $ wise than the PR3s and it looks like they changed the 2CT from soft/med to med/hard to get some more mileage out of them. i may throw one on the KTM and see if i can get more than the usual 6k-ish ive been getting

They look great. I think the fronts are still soft/med, just the rear compounds were changed. At least, that's what I read on the webz somewhere.
These will definitely be going on the fugly , should I own it long enough to change tires.

Hay oxx, remember when I was right behind you at nyst buzzing around? That happened on pr3's.

yes, the fronts are still the S/M

they are coming in 3 types. Reg, GT, and a trail. the Regular will come in all the usual sizes (150-190). the GT seems to only come in the larger (180-190) and the trail isnt in my catalog so im not sure what sizes. i assume the same as the Regular and if its like the PR3T then the "hard" strip will be a little narrower.

Do you have info on MSRPs? The PR3 is already a fairly spendy tire.

I believe the "hard" strip is WIDER on the PR3T not narrower.

On paper, the tire looks like it is going to be great. We have already had some customers buy and mount them - I'm excited to hear the feedback. I put a set together for a guy yesterday that was actually cheaper than the equivalent for the PR3. MSRP only tells so much because tire manufacturers rarely regulate the pricing:

Parts unlimited has a 40% sale on michelins this month so revzillas prices don't surprise me.

    Re: Pilot Road 4 2CT

It seems these tires rarely go for MSRP. The MSRPs are up though. So I am surprised someone could get a set for less than PR3's.
I've been putting PR2's on the rear of my 'strom because they are a healthy $20 less (retail) than the 3's. I can't tell the difference.
They don't sell a PR2 in my front fitment. Otherwise I'd run 2's on both ends. I really like the roads. As much as I'm kidding myself about healthy performance tires for the new DRZ, I will probably wind up with a set of roads and be plenty happy. I think they still make Road 1's that fit that bike.

seems theyve limited the size runs on the PR2s now. i dont see them in my catalog for my rear tire size anymore and i just bought a rear last year
