I’m pretty happy with it as it’s my only 2 wheel toy at the moment and I find it fun to rip around town on...i did a bunch of homework before I picked one up...narrowed down to the manufacturers that i read were pretty reliable (list below)...after asking on here, decided on something that would register as a motorcycle so I could keep up with traffic...wanted to to have a small footprint and be agile and quick...wanted 4 stroke so no need to mix...wanted it to be affordable and have good parts availability (haven’t changed the buddy design much over the years)...wanted plastic panels over metal for weight and easier and cheaper to replace...didn’t want to shift so I can squid out in sandals in the summer...so that’s where I ended up...still want a duke 390 or maybe an electric motorcycle but this is what I have for now

no, going back to RMS to reassemble plastic & mount the oil cooler
due to exhaust port, and oil cooler connections location, the exhaust had to be done first. the exhaust wasn't cheap, 1¼" pipe is harder to work with than larger pipe
by the time I get done with this project, it will have cost me more than I paid for the bike

OK, I haven't been on it yet, but the mechanic has taken a couple spins around the parking lot, getting clutch adjusted etc. only think left is the oil cooler, I happened to stop by on my way back from a Doc's appt. they were about to call me, where to mount the oil cooler, not the best location for getting air, but out of any suspension movement, I will probably look for a shorter but wider cooler, and I may be able to mount it where it gets good air
exhaust sounds good, quiet enough to pass inspection

It's starting to look like a dirt tracker!
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
mechanic and service manager (Norm) have taken a few spins around the lot, 1st gear is low, 2nd has some nut too, larger gap to 3rd, they haven't been on road yet, but will before they call me that it's ready. The 190 is double the HP of the stock 125
only thing left, is to wrap the exhaust, the oil cooler lines are close, so is the calf of the riders leg
I am gonna start looking at some more dirt oriented tires, the ones on it now are pretty square

Norm has been prepping me for the check I'm gonna hafta write, and I know they put in a lot of extra hours not anticipated, cause other than the engine assembly bolting to the frame, there was no other "direct swap" about it. But the shop was excited for the winter work, kept em busy. and sounds like everyone wants to get on it for a spin

at least my insurance is cheap on it, Full Coverage, 250k/500k/100k limits liability & um, 100 deductible collision, and ACV on comprehensive, some other coverage as well, all for $22.51/yr

I found the unstudded 110/80-17 in a couple places, but still looking for the 130/70-17 rear
10" scooter size readily available
tells me that at least one tire mfg is thinking about winter tires for motorcycles
edit: found them readily available, studded and unstudded, in Finland

Let me know if you pick it up today. I'll be home at 4:00. Just dropping some shit off, getting geared up, and heading out for a couple hours.

this thing rips 0-60 time maybe 12 seconds, cruises easily in traffic up to 65 at least, with not much throttle, did have to downshift to 4th coming up the ½ mile of 18% hill on my street, but had no problem keeping it at 50mph. Impressive cause the 125 couldn't even go 60, except down that 18% grade
gotta get used to how the clutch grabs from a stop in 1st

just got an email, the YSS shock I ordered is not in stock, either a cheaper shock, or a more expensive, waiting for links, the more $ one I think is same, but with remote reservoir, is probably the way I will go

I rode my K-Pipe to a doc's appt this morning, on the way back, I hit the Spaulding for a couple exits. It easily goes 65-70, maybe faster, things start getting dicey above 65, the bike is not made for that kind of speed. I will never use all 17 horsepower, I'm skert
45-50 is nice, without having to keep it pinned like I did with the 125
haven't used a tank of gas yet, so don't know my fuel economy yet
I'm also looking at heat shields, even though I wrapped the exhaust, my ankle is right there, foot pegs are small, and my feet are big, I will look for a longer shifter as well
