Tucking is key if you want to keep the speed up. Tuck on the highway and pop up for a second and watch your speed drop.
I went up a front tooth on mine to make it more useable. Sacrificed a little power but I'm not rowing through the gears as much. I can cruise in 4th all over now. Before I was 3rd -5th all the time.
I'm surprised you didn't stop by on it this weekend!
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I worked Saturday (walking the property in Gilmanton with client, where I also want to spend some time hunting), and picked up yard shit in afternoon, I always wait till my garden hoses are filled with ice. on Sunday when I finally went out, I was thinking about taking a ride over the hill, but no heated gear on the K-Pipe, and even though warmer than Friday, it was still fucking cold on a nekid bike

of vice versa, tuck, and watch the speed slowly increase
I tucked a bit on my ride, more cause of the freeking cold than trying to increase the speed, the effort to curl into the fetal position to ride a bike isn't worth the 4mph gain in top speed
it does cruise right along at 40-45 with hardly any throttle, I am really curious what I will get for gas mileage, I remember getting as much as 130mpg on the old CB125S I had years ago, but I'm 50-75 lb heavier now

You should be right along that figure if you dont go crazy. As you have found out wind is not your friend. a strong head wind will really make the motor work over time.
Do you know if the carb has been jetted on yours? Some would run really lean and dealers would richer them up, sometimes a lot. I think I am running a 104 main now. Stock was 88 or 92 if I remember right. I think 96 was installed to get stock bikes running right. Yours could be anywhere in between.

Cannon A1400, nice little digital that still uses an optical viewfinder, batteries last forever, cause it isn't constantly powering the monitor/view screen, not that great image on handheld closeups, obsolete, but you can still find em, takes a better picture than a cell phone for the most part

before I try to make to go faster, (easiest way is to go down a tooth in front and make it rev more) I would like to beef up the suspension, no adjustments of any kind, no dog bones,
I'd like stiffer spring, more travel, front and rear, damping on both compression and rebound are not that bad

the K-pipe really likes hot weather, I can maintain 55 even on a slight (very light, 1% ) upgrade

gonna have to put sliders on my shoulders, cause I'm bigger than the bike, I touch down in corners before any hardware on the bike.

not long after my last post in this thread, my engine went tic-tic-tic, and no oil, didn't even waste my time tearing down the engine, I started looking for a replacement, ended up with a 190cc 5spd, having my dealer do the swap, the bike is at a fabrication shop right now, getting a new custom exhaust, muffler is gonna be the same as om my v-strom, a Thrush Cherry Bomb, after the exhaust is finished, back to dealer to put the plastic back on, mount the oil cooler, and hook me up a neutral light, With the new engine, I lose my gear indicator & neutral light in the cluster, speedo still works
hoping the 190 will let me cruise @ 55 or higher

My 150 big bore kit put my cruising right at 50 to 55. Still had a little power to get to 60 and beyond that was a slog to get to 65. I would hope the 190 gets you that depending on gearing. Some of those 190 motors are geared so low in order to start moving a family of four from a dead stop they run out of steam real fast.
exhaust fabricator is waiting on some pipe that he can bend, the 1¼" pipe he has in stock is too thick wall for his pipe bender

Wait till you see it with the new Thrush Cherry Bomb, it has a bright red stinger sticking out the tail
hopefully getting back next week, B&B finished with the exhaust fabrication today, Rochester Motorsports will pick it up on Tuesday when they open, mount the oil cooler, neutral light, & plastic, done
gotta remember to register it, so they can put a new sticker on it while they have it
