Or an Aprilia RSV V-Twin with MIVV GP Carbon exhaust. I walk the bike down the street before starting her up when I commute on it. damn thing is louder and better sounding than my neighbors Harley with V&H straight pipes.
U could fit a large potato down the back of the pipe.
The RC is nice, but there are so many great-sounding bikes.
I happen to love the sound of a well-sorted Triumph Trident air-cooled triple:

And speaking of triples... the sound of a Kawasaki H2 two-stroke triple is truly magnificent.

The answer to the original question is yes.
Everytime I start up my Sato'd RC it gives me a special feeling.
I think my 98 VFR, and the 09+R1s sound the same and pretty damn cool, too. There are alot of great sounding bikes out there.
But anything that isn't a twin just doesn't have the bass of 500cc per pulse.
Sounds like a goddam machine gun.

I'm biased, but the RC of course.
This isn't my bike, but a very similar setup. I haven't heard a sicker video, they guy seems scared to blip the throttle!

I like the sounds of the Akrapovic on my Aprilia. But I've quite a few great sounding bikes, usually the thunder of twins.
I like the off idle rough and unsteady sound the best, like that you would hear from a formula one engine right before it breaks loose.
Great vids by all. Trying to figure out how to turn them into a phone ring.
Well if your looking for goose bumps my 1K with the straight mid and the Jardine GP1 slip ons is the ticket. Anything over 10 K and I feel the fillings in my teeth start to vibe out!

That CBX wins, IMO. Gave me goosebumps.
