JIS Screwdrivers

Anyone know where I can buy them locally on the north shore? Gotta tear open up the carbs on Carlas bike.

you can usually find one in any oem tool kit in a Japanese bike

I've never found any JIS screwdrivers in local hardware stores -- the people there don't even know what they are. I ordered some online -- do a search for Vessel Tools. Their screwdrivers and bits are manufactured in Japan to JIS specs.

HD chasen in somerville will have them. I think they are open Saturday mornings. They have anything and everything when it comes to tools and tooling. Unfortunately they are not a bargain but they are a great resource. They have a huge inventory and helpful staff. I have been amazed at some of the oddball items they have in stock.

I would say check out Wiha tools, dunno about JIS spec but their screw drivers are amazzzingggg

Have to order them. I was looking for a snap-on truck for a little bit to find them. Seen one last week and stopped. When I asked the guy he looked at me like I had 3 heads. Said he never heard of them. He called another tool guy and he had no idea. Then he called motosport international and they had no idea what they were either.

A quick search on ebay gives a few options.

afik none of the major tool companies carry JIS

I have been more than satisfied using the reversable JIS that came with my bike, because it is JIS and not phillips, it fits the screws properly and doesn't require as much effort

I custom ground one.. then I replace the screws with allen head on my own.
