    Re: Polaris to shutter Victory

I thought seriously about buying it...even considered buying it and putting it in storage as an investment since it's somewhat unique and one of the first ones available, but after doing a bit of research it appears that the Zero electric bike blows it away in most of the important metrics (mainly torque and range). The torque on the zero is way more than my speed triple and fuckin A, I worry about looping the triumph on uphills at the right rpm so the zero must be simply comical to ride, in terms of acceleration

The zero still costs twice as much as this fire sale price, though...

Doesn't look like they're looking to pump out the Vegas or Hammer just yet though...

Hmmm, one of the first electric bikes, supported by a company that will no longer exist. $7999 seems pretty high

Wow, looks like Victorys are going out on a fire sale now. Seen quite a few low cost options. Are these bikes any good?

I test drive several about 8 years ago. The hammer and 8 ball were 2 of them if I remember correctly. Both died spectacularly on the factory test rides. 8 ball lost all electronics several miles away from the dealership and they put me on a hammer with a promise of a generous discount because of the 8 ball fiasco. The hammers drive belt blew apart about a mile from the dealership. I walked back and left the bike where it died. I don't think they are quality but that may have changed with time.

I saw some good deals last spring but figured they were all gone.

There are some slightly used ones hitting the market for what seems short money. $5-6k for a Hammer, etc.

I did their test rides a couple times. I never really thought that much of any of their offerings. Slightly better than the Star/Yamaha cruiser line, but still inferior to Harley.
People make a big deal about the better chassis and motors. But I couldn't get past the fit & finish. Particularly of the controls.

This is a recurring theme for me. I feel a lot of the cruisers out there have terrible fit & finish; too much cosmetic crap. Lots of plastic painted as chrome steel. Modern digital displays mashed into classic/vintage styled machines. Etc.

    Their electric bike was horrible.
