I think people are idiots and I'm suprized more have not been killed or seriously injured. They are all over Woonsocket and Prov...driving down the main streets at night...puredy stupid. They are ruining it for the people who are resposible with them.

"The Concord police say they have pulled over the bikes to find the owners registered them as mopeds. "

Someone is trying to do the right thing by registering them....

I love my XR-50. It is so nice to jump on it and ride a 1/2 mile down to the hardware store or grocey store to pick stuff up. Or do a seat stander down a double yellow road like in my avator.

The number one rule in the real world, no matter where you go, as a rule, idiots rule. It works much in the same way as the lowest common denominator and becuase of that, it affects everyone who breathes the same air. Sad, but true.

Why are you a idiot if you ride one? Because they look like so much fun? Funny, but I would think if you saw a bunch at a party you would want to take one for a spin.

Context, it's all in the author's intended context and you have taken it outside of my intended context. This is a common problem on these web forums, oh well.

I didn't say "you", I didn't say "me" or anyone else specifically. It was a general statement and it wasn't directed at specific owners of these pocket bikes, but if you want to take offense, then be my guest.

I'm just saying it is the few rotten ones on these things that are doing stupid shit ruin it for everyone else out there. Simple as that.

Can you street register the XR-50 though? It is quite different than a pocket bike.

Don't know where you are, but here the pocket bike guys are MORONs. Weaving in and out of rush hour traffic on main street the wrong way, going down the sidewalk scaring the crap out of pedestrians, etc... running the red lights, etc..

Thank you for reinforcing the basis of my general statement made earlier Ben. This is the inspiration behind my "idiots rule", lowest common denominator commentary. Because of these few turds on wheels, everyone on these things is now brought down to their level.

Yup, the law say under 50cc. XR-50 is 49cc. I would put a brake light and head light on though.

You must stay in the road but I think differently. If the road is open, if the side walk is clear, if the popo is not around then due what you please. Just remember you share the road with other people and the bike path with walkers. If you see someoen comming downt he trail stop and let them go by. Do not buzz them at full speed to scare the piss out of them.

I am a fool at times and do what I please but you never win by pissing people off.

Mostly the XR-50 is out when I drink. I put the big bike away and play on the small one. I lived in Lowell and drove all around that city. One night 3 of us were on UMass and the security guard started to chase us. We took off and went into Lowell. Next thing you know there are some Lowell police behind us. Did we stop? No We were drunk and figured we would run. The chase lasted about 15 minutes. 2 got away but I got caught. Cops tackled me, roughed me up, smashed my foot, and took the keys away. Found 8 beers in my backpack. Gave me the beers back and told me to go home. Had to push the bike back home with a messed up foot. It could have been a lot worse but as the cop said I am not out hurting anyone and to just stop next time.

I understand what you are saying. No offense taken but I for one would be labeled a idiot on my XR-50. I do not go downtown and ride through traffic though. I value my life.

ya, those people are generally stupid!!

they aren't supposed to go on South Mountain rd. because they scare the shit out of the horses. stupid fuckers come flying down honking there horns and hollering.

its no problem in town though, i haven't heard any other complaints about them. i'm sure you could fit your bike down the path...except which bars do you want to go to Gordi's? NO!! CJ's? Okay maybe once in awhile...

But it doesn't go by the station!!!

I actually haven't seen any pocket bikes around here...

i saw this wicked cool electric bike the other day that a 5 year old was on...that was neat!
