    poll: had a bike stolen?

Yup, had two bikes stolen. Never was able to recover dollar one from insurance company even though they were covered for theft. Yet another reason I am going to law school to become a lawyer.

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

    poll: had a bike stolen?

    Yes if you include bicycles.

Locked to a rack inside a locked "bike room" inside a locked building.

You had to have a keycard to get into the building, and then you needed a physical key to open the door to the "bike room" and then you needed to defeat my lock that held the bike to the rack.

Police basically said "fuck you kid".

I had some dopes try and snap the steering lock on my bike. Fortunatly they were unsuccessful and it just gouged a groove into the frame. They also chiped the paint with a belt buckle. I think they gave up after they noticed it was chained with a Kryptonite but who knows what they were thinking.

    poll: had a bike stolen?

They said that it wasn't stored at the place of residence listed on the insurance.

I was living on Comm ave in boston and had to park my bike in a location 1.5 miles from my apartment. Total bullshit basically.

Second time, I didn't report the incident until the spring (bike was stored under my porch in the apt i was living in for the winter) because I didn't notice that it was stolen over the winter.

Did they suspect fraud or something because of all the trouble it would take to get the bike?

I'm surprised that you didn't give them a legal shitstorm that would make them pay you to go away.

Insurance companies are all too often a bunch of uncle fuckkers. I have State Farm, and they've always been good to me, though the only claim I ever made was a homeowner's claim.

No it was just a bicycle, and not a super nice one... they didn't spend any time on it.
