New positioning for comfort?

I have been thinking about a new bike because the RC51 just doesn't cut it on long rides, but I do love this bike. + why should I take a loss and re-invest in a new bike. There is nothing wrong with my RC.

Now would this help me??

I was thinking if I found clip ons to raise the bars and help so I am not leaned over as much. Maybe even have them so they are not slanted in and back as much either, this might help out the pain in my wrists from riding?

Also look into rear sets possibly lowering the pegs and moving them back a slight bit?

What thoughts can help the decision, & What brands or sites may help me find what I need??

I'm sure adjusting the rear sets would make a great difference. I didn't realize how agressive those are till I jumped on it up at the track.

i had two brothers heli bars for the falco.. made a world of difference for comfort.
As for pegs though... you ride pretty quick ... lowering them might make them a hazard at extreme lean angles.

Remember our ol' buddy JC? He's like, 6'4". He was mighty cramped on the TL-S, and installled adjustable rearsets. I thought he was outta his tree. I'da been damned though. They actually did wonders for the position on that thing. I think Beet still has 'em on, and he's about the same size as ol' JC. Give wunna them a shout...

Compared to a new bike its almost free. I used stock mounts to the bottom of a big C and new bars of the top of the C. Cables etc went thru the middle of the C

Moved everything 2 1/4 inch directly at my shoulder. Then had hoses and cables made to fit. My bike had faring supports otherwise would have gone farther.

Nothing wrong with making some ' adjustment's ' to the RC . 210flyer has clip-ons and it make's a big difference , I have'nt ridden Bruce's bike so maybe you should take him up on his offer and try it out...

go with the adjustable rearsets. Like I said the RC is really agressive. You were dragging your kickstand at the track before your pegs so you have room to move around. You'd rather be dropping the pegs to the pavement anyways. On top of that, even as hard as we ride you rarely get that low on the street so it wouldn't be much of an issue. If you're going out on the track with it or a REAL agressive ride it doesn't take long to adjust them back up for what you're doing.

I actually looked very closely at Bruce's bike and the Sato clip on and they look like they improve the comfort tremendously. I think I have to add some of those this offseason. Check it out. Plus everyone on the RC board that has added them said they helped in the comfort department.

More seriously I don't think anyone has mentioned Gen-Mar makes risers as well.

You may see yourself wheeling a lot more if you move the bars up and maybe loosing some front end feel...

Everyone should cosider adjusting their bike for comfort pretty much immediately after buying it. There's nothing better for your riding than a bike that fits you properly. The pros will spend a LONG time and a lot of effort getting a new bike set to their liking. Just a few inches of adjustment can be like night and day.

I am getting Sato adjustable clip ons over the winter. My wrists kill after 350+ mile days.

Nothing else hurts, back is fine, neck, legs, arse (even with stock seat)

Dude..I know think I know what your trying to do..and I think i have the same problem....How do fix the problem....buy throwing alot of money at it...In my case..I want a nice bike for the track(CBR600RR/R6/SV) and a nice sport tourer(Futura/ST4/FJ1300)

I don't think there is any other way...
