nice bike... but I wouldn't have picked somethin like out for you, though.

Someone who's never done trackdays buying that bike is like learning how to shoot tin cans w/ a 50 cal sniper rifle... Completely unnecessary & a waste of good bullets.

Can you do it? Sure... If that's what you're into then knock yourself out... but you can achieve the same results, spend less & get a better learnin experience w/ a .22.

I'd offer him $2800. Then get rid of the far too long Vortex frame sliders and unknown rear sets, go with Woodcrafts for both. my point of reference is my 03 R6 that I drove to NJ for last fall

no, but they did make a GSXR400

I'm just saying there's less expensive & better learning tools out there than that. But like I said... if that's what tickles your pickle, go for it.

Re: another potential track bike, haha

So I just got off of the phone with the seller after we came to an agreement on the price. I feel like a got a good deal considering all the mods and recent work he has had done to it. I pick up the bike in Jersey on Saturday evening. Now I just have to order a suit, and buy a track day. I will likely paint it soon too.

Re: another potential track bike, haha

I didn't pay yet in hopes I may be able to talk him down when I'm actually there, but through our phone conversations I got him down to $3400. He was willing to go down to $3000 if i chose to have the stock rotors instead of the galfers, but I really want the galfers.

Re: another potential track bike, haha

It's mine! I just got back from about a 14 hour round trip. I went with 2 friends so by no means was the ride boring or uneventful. I'm so glad to finally have a track bike. Now to just buy a suit, back protector, and some track days and I'm the happiest guy in the world. I'm hoping it doesn't rain tomorrow after a few minor adjustments and an oil change I plan on taking it to a private parking lot to get use to a 600. Anyone care to join somewhere in the northshore?

i took it for a quick spin today. Surprisingly its a lot more peppy then the 12r, it handles unbelievably well. I can't wait to be use to this and take it to the track!

thanks, yeah I feel a little tight in the sitting position but whats more important is my confidence is a lot more comfortable in the turns due to the suspension. I didn't realize how much of a difference good suspension makes. now I feel like I need to put a couple grand into the suspension of my 12r, haha.

now see what you did. the second i sat on my GSX-R, i felt very comfortable. i've been on a CBR F4, CBR rr, and katana. but nothing seemed to seem like a better fit than my GSXR

yeah its just i was tempted to lower the rearsets, but i decided I just get use to it. I think its just such a different seating position then my other bike has.
