    powdercoat or paint?

ok so this is more or less an opinion question since I havent made up my mind yet.
I ride an 03 kawi 636 and it has that crappy ugly gray frame, subframe, swingarm, pegs. I know my best option is to strip and powdercoat but frankly I am not really feeling stripping the bike down to do that.
considering masking off the engine etc and taking my time and doing a good prep on the frame and get the swingarm and subframe powdercoated since they can be easily removed.
    ok lets hear it

Do it right. Or don't bother. Stripping a bike is a 3 hour project. Putting it back together is a day. Just make the time over winter.

If you take your time, paint can look good, the manufacturers dont powdercoat from the factory and how many people complain? Sure, PC is the best but for the cost and effort of stripping the bike, it makes a lot of work.
You can remove the sub frame, all the body work, exhaust etc and then mask the engine. To do a really good job, you need to remove all but a couple of the engine mounting bolts etc and mask as well as possible. the finish you achieve depends on the time that you take.

Paint is fat easier to match and repair. When PC peels you're SOL.
