Good price for a Scorpion EXO-1000

This was posted over at the R6 forum and too good of a deal not to pass along http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=4891 . I broke my other helmet (not to mention bike, been a good year all around) so I needed one and so just purchased this one. Maybe someone on here needs a good helmet too for short money. But I also bought this http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=7809 too to avoid shipping and I needed a mesh jacket. It was soooo hot riding around in a textile this summer, never again.

I picked it up a few weeks ago and it definitely is heavier than my suomy but I will only use it when I know that I will be out after dark. I love the sun shade.

Enough where any idiot could tell the difference? I've gone from an hjc-shoei-icon-arai-agv-bell and I couldn't tell any weight difference between them all.

Your right for $99.95 I should have expected more the internal flip down sun visor, cheek pump and lower chin deflector is asking too much when it ways more ounces from other helmets. I should have at least made sure it cooked my dinner, wiped my ass, and gave me a massage with a happy ending. Luckily I have some pretty strong neck muscles

It also has to do with aerodynamics and venting. Brick = Heavy AND Square.

But of course that isn't too big of a deal when you have the neck muscles to handle it.

Not saying it is a terrible helmet and at $100 it is a good deal. Squirrel, Pittenger and I are just tossing out info. That is no reason to get all defensive, it's not like you are buying Icon or something.

Re: Good price for a Scorpion EXO-1000

You fuckin pansies never wore an EXO1000. Ive used mine at the track and on the street. I also have other helmets (a coupe Shoei's, a Suomy) and the Scorp is by far the better helmet.

Maybe try to let go of your holier than thou It has to be an Arai or Shoei bullshit for a sec.

    Have a nice day

By the way, Im pissed I paid retail for it when it was first on the market...These discounted deals are great.

I'm just trying to pass on a good deal/ price for a decent helmet (I never said it was top shelf item but then again Scorpion never was but it's not as low as say a HJC and shouldn't be compared next to Shoei, Arai and such ffs). But unfortunately some people feel the need to point out the negative. W/e it is what it is.
For another deal for people in or around the Merrimack Valley area I heard (not confirmed) that Revolution (Revolutionary??) Cycles in Windham, NH is having a winter storage fee sale for $150. That so far is the cheapest I've seen. Think normal price for them for unlimited storage time is usually $250+

Re: Good price for a Scorpion EXO-1000

Yay, just got my helmet in. Feels great No pinch or pressure points while on and the weight was a non issue because I only ever had a Scorpion 400 and have nothing else to compare it to. It did not feel overly heavy or burdensome to me. That particular thought would have never crossed my mind till some people mentioned brick. I think not, and I'm so glad I got it. It also looks different from pic. It is A LOT darker. More like flat black..or very dark smoke to silver. Looks fantastic. I'm use to crazy paint jobs but this is very nice with it's clean lines. I hope someone else was able to benefit on this forum for this sale.

Re: Good price for a Scorpion EXO-1000

The supposed extra weight of the helmet weighs EXACTLY the same amount as the $300 in bills you saved.

    I looked up the weights:

Shoei X-11 3.2lbs (and was described as a 'seriously lightweight' helmet)

    EXO 1000 4.0lbs

So.... the difference is .8 lbs or 12.8 ounces....

    I say again...Fuckin pansies

    Have a nice day

Got mine in today. Just went for a 1 hour ride. I am very, very happy with it. You guys had me thinking I was gonna have a cinder block on my head. I would rather buy 5 helmets or a new one every year that weighs what this thing weighs.

For those with deep pockets enjoy your helmets.

I have only owned hjc, joe rocket, icon, so this thing isn't bad at all.
