I am changing my automobile and house insurance to Liberty Mutual since they are giving me a much better deal on the car insurance (since my 16yo is on the policy my Progressive insurance sky rocketed). I have been happy with the motorcycle insurance with Progressive for the most part and especially when I had a claim. LM and Progressive cost is equivalent. Anybody has experience of switching from one to the other and any feedback? I am inclined to stay with progressive for the motorcycles since it is a larger bike insurer and my experience has been good.
Liberty mutual was the worst insurance company I ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Bikes with progressive and cars with gieko.
I've had great experience -- great coverage, good prices, excellent service -- from Plymouth Rock for car and bikes, and Bunker Hill for house -- they are "sister" companies so I get a discount there. Boston-based.

Commerce through aaa.
I called progressive several years ago to get a quote hearing that they were really cheap for motorcycles. Nope. They wanted 4 times as much as what I was paying with commerce. They said my R1 was considered a race bike.

Yeah, my only issue with Progressive was the insurance on my 2013 Streetfighter 848 was literally TRIPLE the cost of my 2012 Monster 1100evo due to being classified as a superbike. I tried to explain to them that the bikes are not that different when it comes to power/handling/etc... but to no avail. This kind of pushed me to sell the bike given it was the one I was riding the least and wanted to try a scrambler
I had Liberty Mutual for years when I lived in MA with no problems. Now in NH, I use MetLife for home and auto and Progressive for bikes.
I just recently (as in this week) wrapped up a claim against another party's MA Progressive insurance after the guy damaged my driver's side mirror. They bent over backwards to accomodate me and guided me through the process every step of the way. I was genuinely impressed with how they handled me.

I have home and auto with Liberty. I've made several claims against them, home and auto, and never had an issue. That said, they are EXTREMELY costly now that I am shopping out prices. They were competitive when I started with them 20 years ago, but their little increases over time definitely seem to be higher than everyone else's. I will probably be switching in the coming weeks.

Geico saved my 45% on my bike and 30% on my car compared to Liberty.
