What are the plans with this one? Is it going to be another bike I dream about like your Hawk?

Ahhhhhhh an SV1000! Much different than the TL1000S as far as suspension goes. Have fun with your project. I'm sure you'll love the bike, they make great street bikes.

Power. TLR and TLS made more HP + torque with different heads and cams. They have a reputation for poor handling though, whereas the SV does reasonably well out of the box, and can be set up to handle very well with not a lot of effort.

What's different? Effectively everything but the bottom end!

Edit: I've got engine parts if needed.

Here are the pics of the eng. This is how I got it. It has not been cleaned. It had no speedo so not sure how many miles it has but from the looks of it it's low.

I will post more pics next week when the parts get here.

Nice. I don't know if TL heads or came would fit bit it might be worth a look since you've got of torn apart.

this used to be MY 1997 TL1000S, sold it to the owner of Demon's back in 200? Couple years back I stopped by the shop and WTF? This looks familiar...

Love the look but frame's are big $ and tons of work. The frame I like is $2,500 just the frame I have to pass on that for now.

That is a rigid frame so it's probably under $1000, problem is that it's RIGID! ever rode one?

second problem is all the fabrication you have to do

    Re: new project is a 2003 SV1000

I am still wondering how I will manage shock, linkage, and swingarm connection. The Duc had the linkage above the swingarm at the top shock mount and the SV has it below. There are no provisions for linkage below because the shock bolted directly to the swingarm. They also used different lower mounts on the shocks. The SV uses a clevice mount and the Duc uses a heim joint. I guess if you have the right types of shocks you could swap them if they both were adjustable ride height units with removable connectors?
