    my project

Well I was trying to sell the cbr and no one was really interested in her because of her colors, so I decided to revive her and make her a little more appealing. This is what I started off with and what she looks like now. I'm getting new 1998 plastics painted black and copper orange!

When she was dropped off the very first day!!!

She came with a full two brothers exhaust, velocity stacks, jet kit, k&n air filter, cf grips and mirrors.

    As she sits now:

And I have added to her cf gas cap, cf tank pad, cf triple tree cover, rear tail delete with plate mount led plate lights and led plate mount turn signals, and a second look seat skin.

Here is a picture of the new plastics and color scheme:

as well as the new mods that will be done while changing over are:

carbon fiber brake and clutch levers
1998 plastics painted black and copper orange
    black grips
    carbon fiber gauge cover
    carbon fiber mirrors
    carbon fiber tank pad
    custom embroiled seat skin
    new carbon fiber tank pad
    flush mount front turn signals
    under tail
    intergrated tail light
carbon fiber front and rear pegs
    carbon fiber case cover

I'll post pics of the progress once I start the transformation. Just waiting on the plastics to be finished

the colors look nice. A lot of fake carbon fiber is a bit tacky IMO....but are you going to fight your seat cover or get it 'embroidered'?

    Re: my project

looks awesome, but i've always admired the people who keep the stock plastics, heinously 90s colorscheme and all.

it'll certainly look nice, but my personal opinion is that i'd prefer a mint period-accurate colorscheme.

    Re: my project

I lke the original colors, but I also really like the new colors, too. Should look really nice.

But yeah, chalk me up as another fake carbon fiber hater. It's your bike, not mine so take this for what it's worth (which isn't much) but I can't stand it. Soooo played out. If you're gonna go C/F then get the real stuff.

    Re: my project

Heh... .mixing & matching fake with real is even worse IMO.

Speaking of which, thanks for the reminder... I gotta either replace or scuff & paint the fake c/f blinkers that came w/ my bike
