    Question Street Tire Mileage

just curious how many miles you guys average on your street bike tires.

    I hit 10k on Pilot Powers & they're done.

    10K ?

I got 4k and a few burnouts out of the first set of PPs on my Motard. A good part of those miles were dirtroads and some trails

I've got about 1500 on the PPs on my R1 now and they are showing signs of wear...I'm guessing they will be done by 4k miles with no burnouts.

The stock dunlops on the R1 were toast by 4k miles, they would have lasted much longer but the previous owner must have commuted on the highway all the time, or just never turned the bike because the flatspot was huge.

Of all the sportbikes I have ever had, I don't think I've ever gotten better than 6k miles out of a set of tires

    Re: Street Tire Mileage

74,000 miles on my ST2....every kind of tire you can imagine. Averaged about 5000on rears. Never more that 5700.

16000 miles on my Multi. Average 5000 miles on three sets.

BUT...running the new Dunlop Smart Roads and have high hopes that I'll get closer to 6k. That will be a breakthrough!

I wouldn't know. Every tire I've owned seen track too. All I can say is it will depend on your tire pressures. I've done a long ass street ride before with track pressures and I flattened out the center of the tire in one ride. It did rain most the time too.

I got 13K out of the last set of tires I had on the CBR. Of course, they were Avon sport touring AV-45/AV-46. But they gripped the road for what I was using them for.

We'll see how much I get out of the Pirelli DCIIIs.

    Re: Street Tire Mileage

I just got 4500 out of my stock rear Bridgestone BT-014. Front is still in good shape though and just started show signs of wear.

On my ninja 650. I had a 160 rear with bridgestone BT-020's and had 6500 miles on it when I sold. Probably would have been good for another 1k to 1.5k miles before replacement.

I'm hoping to get better mileage out of the BT-016 that I just put on.

    Re: Street Tire Mileage

D208 lasted 3K miles on the rear 5K on the front

Diablo Corsas lasted 2.5K on the rear and about 5K on the front.

Pilot Powers lasted a little over 2K on the rear and the front was replaced after the 2nd and 4th rear tire was worn out and they still had a bit of life left in them.

I had very good luck with the Azaro STs on my SV650, I averaged 9-13 per set. I liked them better than any other tires cause of their consintency throughout their life

MY winter tires on the SV were Pirelli MTR60-Corsas, in the winter I could get 3500-4500 miles on a set, in summer, I would be lucky if I could get them to last 1500 miles

on my V-strom 1k, I'm searchin for a 10k rear tire, so far best I have been able to manage is 7500, stock trailwing went 7500, conti road attack,7500 also , Metzler Karoo T, 3500 miles, but that was in winter, I doublt they would last 1k in summer, Maxxis Presa DEtour 6000 miles, trying a Dunlop D607 now

    Re: Street Tire Mileage

11,752 miles to take the K630 on the 250 down to cords (although I picked it up with just about 9k and a decent-sized flat spot on it). The durability is probably the only good thing about that tire.

The front lasted another few hundred before I replaced it due to treadwear and general suckiness (no, I didn't take that down to the cords).

I got 8k out of my stock Bridgestone BT-014's. The cord wasn't showing yet but they were definitely squared off. That was with one track day as well.

Which model pirelli tires are you running on the race bike?

I seem to only get 3-4 trackdays (~350-450mi's i'd assume) on my diablo pirelli supercorsa sp's. They are not right down to the wear bar but do feel a little bit unstable and profile is drastically pointed.

Gotta go see Degs for another set of tires soon. And no Denno you can't go near my wheels, i dunno where those hands of yours have been.

Bear in mind that 6 races is at most 1.5 hour of track time. You probably do that before lunch at 1 track day

So it looks like I have the worse mileage. 2400, maybe 2600...wasn't paying close attention. Battleax BT-002's @ 34f / 36r

Front is still going but a second rear is on already.

    Great tires.

    Re: Street Tire Mileage

for the stock tires, i put about 10.5k on the rear D220 before it was starting to flatspot, but probably still had another 1-2k, fronts are still looking pretty good with 11.3k on em now.

everyone shits on the dunlops, though, so i was kinda eager to get them off and try some new hoops...
