If you like the Vanson you have, you're probably best getting their one piece suit. The doubkenzipperndesign will make things easier to get in and out of.

Personally after wearing leathers from several different brands I prefer the Spidi. Vanson leather is too think and suit feels heavy. Teknic is decent but damaged easier than the Spidi in crashes. Alpinestars is good also just doesn't fit me quite right.

    Re: race suit recommendations

I can't say I have a ton of experience with suits, but if you're on a budget I'd recommend the cortech latigo suit. I've used it for a couple years - it's cheap, comfortable, perforated leather for the hotter days, and i've crashed in it several times and it has held up very well.

I was also looking at an alpine star suit that was about 3x as much $$... but honestly, seeing them side by side I just couldn't justify the extra money.

Vanson!! There is something to be said for having the manufacture in your back yard. If you ever need anything they are just a short drive away. Or shipping is cheap and quick. Customer service is always fantastic!!! What mo can you ask for.

Check out the RS taichi line... Quality is top shelf. They carry it at sportbiketrackgear.com

I just got a two piece and it blows away the high end alpinestars that i tried prior to this set.

    Re: race suit recommendations

Pilot. if you want an off the rack size they'll send you a "blank" suit, (ie I think its all white) to try on for size and I believe they include the return shipping label. try it on and if it fits you send it back and the deposit you spent goes towards your suit. pick the style you want and do all the colors yourself (you'll probably go back and forth a couple times with them suggesting stuff). then they'll make it just for you. or you can go full custom size from them, that's the way I went. I love it

    Re: race suit recommendations

I don't have much experience with different suits. But my vanson 1piece double zipper has helped me in 3 crashes and I've gone home with nothing but a sore ego. At the moment I don't think that I would consider another brand for myself. But, if your looking to save some money I've heard Kobe has a decent suit. I had Kobe's gloves they fit nice but only lasted 2 crashes.

Just bought a custom Vanson over the off-season. There is definitely something to be said about a suit that fits you like a glove.

    Re: race suit recommendations

I was thinking about heading down to fall river and taking a look at the 1 pieces.

Csmutty- i do agree that my current Vanson also feels very restricted in some spots. However, i do love the quality and protection it has offered me.

I dont mind spending a few bucks for a good suit. Thats something i usually dont bargain hunt for. Ill check out some of the links suggested and see what i find. thx

Whatever you do, DON'T buy an Alpinestars GP Pro. I did and mine has a major, major flaw that you can see in the pic below:

My suit has a little pressure on the junk too when standing straight up. Pretty common for properly sized one pieces. Even some of the MotoGP riders' suits are tight when standing straight up. They're designed to be comfortable riding, not standing.

BTW, I have a Dainese Laguna Seca Pro and like it. I think you'll be happy with any of the above-recommended suits. Just get something that fits right.

The suit in my pic was $850 shipped from SBTG. Hard to beat that for the feature set built into the GP Pro.

I found the astars cr suit for 500. Not sure if I should pull the trigger yet
