First Race Weekend... What a blast!

Hello all...

I just wanted to thank the NESR crew that tried helping me last year with my spark problem... the race bike is complete and I finally raced this past weekend.... I was slow... but improved and had a great time!!! My best time for the weekend was a 1:42... nothing great... but much better then the 1:57's I ran Friday in practice or the 1:52 I ran in PTWN on Saturday... I plan to be mid 1:30's next time... we'll see...

Anyway... thanks again to ya... here's some pics of the weekend if anyone is interested... I'm now #533...

and... I was getting my corner assignment when your wife (both lovely and persistent, I might add) was beginning the process that had her sing the anthem...

Hey guys... THANKS! for the compliments on the Mrs... and the site...

Needless to say I was a bit surprised when I heard them announce her... I did a double take... but it was a great way for me to start my "career"...

So Jeff... I'm guessing you know the bike cause it was all by it's lonesome in the back... I like to go slow enough that the corner workers can get a good look....

Thanks guys for the compliments on my rendition of "Oh say can you see" this weekend. Everyone seemed to think it would be a "neat thing" if I could sing as my husband waited to start his rookie race. Less than 5 minutes later, there I was, up in the box looking over the entire track and belting out the tune.

The run back from behind the stands to catch him in a few laps was a bit taxing but worth it none of the less. I hope to get the chance to sing again sometime. Glad you liked it!

Hey thanks!!!

I have an Olympus C-4040 4.1mgp.... It's been great... it has all the manual settings like a good 35mm... but I normally just use it on auto.... I plan on getting a zoom for it and work on figuring out the manual stuff to get nice, close, clear action pics....

Actually, you DID have some background. I was so moved by your rendition that I found myself inadverantly making the cymbal (sp?) sound towards the end...
